Never really liked the Irish, but I have always liked the french. A mate of mine is Irish, so it'll annoy him if i support Les Bleus. Further to that, i'm not one of these that'll support one of the other home nations (incl. ireland) or want to see them do well, just because England isn't playing.

fair enough. i have to disagree with grubby though, it's a fantastic city with beautiful buildings, and lovely restaurants and cafes. you must have only seen the outskirts of paris, where I have to agree it is grubby, but you get this in all world cities.

My attitude towards the Irish is usually tongue in cheek reaction to their wonderfully conbtrived "hatred" all of things to with English national teams. Regardless of the sport. And yes, I know that's a generalisation.
