Not a chance in hell.

The draws with B'ham and Fulham ended it for us.

If we had picked up 6 points instead of 2 in them games we'd be right in there.

Pretty much. One or even two teams might drop the points, but not all 3 of them. It's also unlikely that we will collect maximum points without Torres and with an off form Gerrard.

Mathematically yes, but I can't see all the others failing.

According to Betfair:

Tottenham Hotspurs - Evens
Manchester City - 13/10
AstonVilla - 11/1
Liverpool - 14/1

Funnily enough I can see us beating Chelsea, but our away form is dire.

For us to get 4th, every match would have to tip in our favour and our opponents would have to give away a lot of points.
If Spurs give away points to Bolton, then sure why not. But it's not bloody likely.

If we had beaten Brum and Fulham, like we should have done. Then we would have been right in the mix.

I hope with every fiber in my body that Villa get 4th.

Its barely even mathematically possible. They can't all lose all their games!

Sadly, although Villa are the ones I hate least, our best realistic option is hoping they drop points and finishing above them.

Spurs and City look out of reach, which is a disgrace. Out of the two I hope City get it.

Really? It's anyone bar City for me.

Yeah, 4th place gives Citeh the opportunity to attract the players not only tempted by the buck but needing CL footy too.

good point but I've always really hated Spurs.

If it was on basis of clubs, I'm with you- but in the interests of us, we can overhaul Spurs easier than a Citeh finally capable of drawing the World's top players.

I think they'll attract players regardless of whether they finish 4th or not.

Few reasons:

- guaranteed massive wage
- opportunity of playing with quality players - kompany, tevez, barry, adebayor etc etc
- direction the club is going - upwards

I'd rather City finish 4th, can't stand Spurs and their performance today fucked me off no end.
Yeah put everything into the Arsenal and Chelsea matches, win them both then go to Old Trafford and collapse.
Typical Spurs twats!!!

The likes of Kaka might well have decided to go if they were a CL team. The same applies now.

Fair enough mate. I just think their potential targets will look at the bigger picture and see the direction City are going and be seriously tempted.

Btw i'm not thinking Fernando Torres. I'm convinced he'll still be with us next season.

I was looking at the fixture list last week and thought that if every result went our way, it would be just about possible. That run had to start with Villa losing to Birmingham in a derby "where anything can happen". Anything didn't happen and Villa picked up another three points.

We'll be in the Europa League next season.

Anyone got a contact in the Villa, Spurs and Man City caterers?

We need the other 3 teams to keep losing. Having seen how Burnley play, I don't think Spurs will lost to them in the last match.

4th place is long gone.

City still have to play Villa and Spurs so a couple of draws there would help.

If Spurs, Villa and City drew all their games and we win ours we could do it. That's highly, highly unlikely though
