What is there to say except, wow what courageous and mature performance from both of them.
Playing at the Emirates against Nasri, Walcott and Arshavin and coming out on top.

I feel somewhat proud and excited at the same time. Proud that they didn't buckle under the pressure and excited about their future.

I was a bit worried about Flanagan early on. Kept lunging in on tackles rather than taking his time. He settled down nicely though.

Robinson was excellent. I don't remember him being that quick!

Let's not forget Wilson is a full international at 19, and the monster that is Martin Kelly is still only 20!

Encouraging times indeed.

Yes!

I just hope we don't spend so heavily in the defensive areas as to kill their progress. We need a top commanding CB (to replace The Greek) and probably a left back to replace Aurelio.. but in 2-3 years time, these guys should be ready to step in.

Did anyone notice how Kenny pulled Flanno aside when Carra got injured?

I was thinking someone should have a talk with him, tell him to keep his head up and focus on the game. A couple of seconds later....King Kenny...LEGEND.

Flanno?

*Cringes*

That's what Kenny and half of Dublin call 'im...

We've got Ayala out on loan aswell. Paul Tomkins (yes, I know) seems to think that he's gonna be great.

He looks the part. Isn't San Jose joining Barca?

Anyone remember Plessis going there and playing well in his debut?
[/quote]

yeah, and i also remember thinking he looked incredibly limited and how crazily overboard people were going about him. i definitely don't think that about robinson or flanagan: they reminded me more of martin kelly's first couple of games in the first team.

Benitez identified Ayala as the best prospect to 'make it' from the reserves a few years ago when we were all wanking over Pacheco/Nemeth/Anderson..

Lee Dixon has just been very complimentary about both lads , says Flanagan has a really bright future and reads the game well as a defender

regards

I know Robinson played last year, but it's pretty cool how not one, but two of them have popped up in the space of the week and both look very promising 🙂

Loving how Kenny is trusting these young guys in big games, really excited about the prospect of academy starlets actually being blooded through to the first team.

Really?

When you take into account that these 2 lads aren't even rated as the top prospects that our youth system has to offer (from what i've read anyway), then the future does seem very bright indeed.

That's the truth. We're in such a bad way we should consider recalling Konchesky if it is possible. We're stretched beyond belief at the back.

If Arsenal had fielded such a team Sky and the London press would still be creaming themselves about how Wenger is able to nurture young talents.

Hardly any credit for Kenny though.

Idiots.

Flanagan looks to be somewhat in the mould of a Lee Dixon actually.
