FIFA on goal line tech - What manner of dark wizardry is this?!

Well, my thoughts on goal line tech and replays are well known. FIFA unfortunately is a completely backward looking, incredibly conservative body.

I find the blanket rejection of any technology in football preposterous . The fact is that any time there is a significant incident, improvements are hinted at, and we are told "they are being looked into", but as soon as the disgust dies down, it's back to not even addressing the issue.

Oh, you'll think about putting an official behind the goal? He'll have a perfect view of whether the whole ball is over the line in the blink of an eye then, won't he?

"We very much appreciate the human side of the game, the debate, the controversy, that's why the board has taken this decision," he said.

Hmmm. So if there's no incorrect decisions to talk about the sport will be boring?! Fucking hell.

Goal line technology ? Preposterous. Why not simply plant more officials all over the pitch. In fact allocate one official per player. That'll work.

Fifa and Uefa are just useless cunts

Is the bottom line.

But we'll never know if it actually crosses that line.

The thing is, even with goal line tech, and replays, there's still a lot of debate over decisions. Look at the NFL, look at the infamous Tuck rule. It just means that obviously wrong things happen far less frequently, not that there can't be any debate.

I'm just impressed they can say that shit with a straight face.

As if the guys in suits know the pain of relegation.

Nor could they give a flying fuck.

It's a laughable situation really.

I feared that was the logic behind it. They don't give a shite about the game so long as it occupies the back pages regularly.
