Yep, but the difference is I have respect for Alonso and he was and is a class guy, I geniunely wish him all the best in everything he does because he treated the club with respect.
Torres on the other hand, I hope his career folds.

Yeah I agree.
I was actually thinking about this yesterday, I loved Alonso way more than I ever loved Torres. But I don't hate Alonso now, I resent that he left because we could still do with him. But he plays for a team I hate and is someone that I wanted to stay with us but left, yet I will never feel the hatred for him that I feel for Torres. The reason being Alonso showed us respect, at the time of his departure and ever since. I never felt like he deceived us or went back on anything he said; Torres did, he said he'd never play for another English team, he also said he would at least be here till the summer. A lot of players come here and are professional, they don't may on the whole sentimental sideshow that Torres did, when they move on you don't feel the same level of betrayal. Torres choose to play the whole emotional attachment to the club bit, and now he will have to live with the fact that that consequently makes him someone who is seen as being deceptive.
Also, anyone remember those David Villa comments in the summer about how Torres was keen on a move to Chelsea? They were quickly rubbished as fabricated, which seemed highly unlikely that they were totally made up. Seems more likely now that he thought he was making comments off the record that ended up being published.

Very well said, it's how he played on the emotion and tradition of the club which makes me bitter. Four days ago I thought Torres was a player who played for more than just money, played for the traditions and values of the club and football, not just another Gareth Barry. Clearly though he was just another Mercenary.
