They’re fucking shit. It’s Everton for fucks sake. They’ve had a padded record this season. It’s like Frank Warren picked their first lot of games.
And we have Adrian in goal, who gets stage fright when he sees a ball. They’re fucking Everton.
A couple of things to note.
One, I've heard a fair few people saying TAA had covid in pre season & couldn't train properly so is a couple of weeks behind the others in fitness. That would make sense & will hopefully mean he improves game by game.
Two, there seems to be a pattern of sorts emerging in these no fans games.
When teams lose, what would have been a 2 or 3 nil match becomes much more. The team on top seems to find it much easier to simply take control of the game.
Whether it's because there's little fear of dropping a lead without all the fans watching, or whether it's simply an extension of the 'training ground affect' that seems to allow players to convert more chances & defenders games to drop a few percent, both of which are made clear by the stats, I don't know, but it is a thing.
We'll see a lot more of these weird scorelines I think, & as such I'm not as worried as some seem to be by the villa game. City shipped 5 & Utd shipped 6, whilst losing is bad, it isn't the end of the world.
Three, the nature of that defeat & the scoreline is such that the players will have a massive point to prove.
And we have Adrian in goal, who gets stage fright when he sees a ball.
Our goalie is made of jellyThey have Pickford who can’t stretch more than 5 inches.
We'd need to attack his goal first, though, wouldn't we?They have Pickford who can’t stretch more than 5 inches.
Arsenal barely tested him, and even then laca got through a few times. Everton will attack us, quickly and in numbers (like Leeds and villa), so I just don't know if Gomez is up to the challenge based off the last match. I think it could do untold damage to his confidenceSurely Matip will be eased back. His last game was in June so he's bound to be rusty.
I know Gomez had a nightmare in his last game, but he was good in the league game against Arsenal

I'm growing more confident. Forget the villa performance, we will be unleashing Thiago, Mane & Hendo into that line up, with an in form Jota on the side lines.
This is the one we lose
