Everton Fucked?

So currently Burnely winning, and a 1-point advantage that Everton has also have a game in hand but that game in hand is with us. They are defiantly not safe.

It kinda means Everton cant really come to Anfield and play for a draw, they have to try and win. Knowling Frank "the third Kray brother" Lampard they probably will play for the draw but it will end tragically

Its really (hopefully) happening...They're big enough they should bounce straight back up but there will be an exodus of players...maybe we can sign that Gordon kid as he looks decent.

Can we stop doing this? We aren't Liverpool circa 2004. If Gordon is good enough (he isn't) then them being relegated isn't the catalyst. We can sign who the fuck we want. The issue is who is good enough and I really hope we use this power wisely

(edit) Not trying to trash local talent. Just saying we don't need favours to get the players we need

How many Everton players have if we get relagated I'm out of here clauses I wonder? They will have to strip back on wages.

None I would think.

They all look like deluded cunts who would have thought it impossible for Everton to be relegated. It probably didn't cross their minds to ask for a clause.
Their agents will be busy this summer trying to get their players out of there. Can't see their best players wanting to get dirty in the championship

The irony being that their best players are Championship standard.

And it won’t have crossed Everton’s mind to include wage reduction clauses either. It will get very messy if they go down.

i dunno... i was kinda wishing Burnley would lose in the week to alleviate some of the pressure on Everton so that they won't be so desperate tomorrow... bad logic i know...

and even though it would be amusing i ain't so sure i want the city as a whole to lose a team out the top flight, I have many happy childhood memories of when the 2 best teams in the country were in fact both from Liverpool.

re-watching the United game... fuck me... even though they've been shiiiiiiit for a while I'm still really loving watching them suffer, I fucking hate em... for so many years they were so good it still feels odd watching them sooooo shit... i fucking love that

Is there still parachute payments for clubs that go down?

Yes, but Everton are over-spending already and the parachutes will still give them less money than they’re earning even now.

Yeah - but if the can bounce back up, they problem won’t go into a financial death spiral - and if they sell DCL and Richarlison for decent coin and invest it wisely (hahahahaha… I know), they “might” be able to bounce back up in a year and be in better shape.

You mean like Fulham : down > up > down > up > down

Glorious. So we get to savour Everton getting relegated every other season.

I have those happy memories too, including memories of Shanks saying the two teams in question were Liverpool and Liverpool reserves. 😎

That’s overly harsh. They do have a few decent players and should haVe been able to make it to lower mid table like Southampton or palace

“if”.

The joyous thing here is that either they get relegated this season and have to sell off the club silver to balance the loss of tv income. Frank may be able to navigate them back to the playoffs, but they will probably have to sack him and hire a championship specialist like. …… Dyche. A match made in Hades!

The alternative is they manage to stay up release the blu-ray and then face the stark reality of next season starting as favourites for the drop, unable to sack their manager because he’s the fans choice

As i was typing that I was aware of that too 🙂

... and once i didn't buy a car because of it's blue paint...

I dunno... being a glory grabbing non-scouse fan who used to get on the scouse express on satdy mornings from Stafford... was never surrounded by bluenoses and so... it's a different feeling for me perhaps, i was never exposed to daily blue nose nonsense at work etc... although in a strange twist here I am out in Laos PDR and two of my Ozzy mates at work are toffeemen!

What I do know is that having lived there in Liverpool as an outsider looking in, I had some really good bluenose mates, and although the bitterness has crept in way too strong over in more recent years... i dunno... I would indeed laugh hard but it does bother me to think of anything which is bad for the town in general and it is good for the city if it has 2 good EPL teams... I'm sure the scousers on here may well view it differently but...

Isn't Ancelotti the reason why they've faded. Spent big on players he failed to deliver so he jumped ship as soon as a big club came calling. He even took a massive 50% paycut to go to madrid.

Not just Ancelotti. Successive managers from Koeman to , Fat Sam, Silva to Ancelotti have come in there and wasted big money on awful signings. The recruitment has been poor. They've had Steve Walsh as director of football then Branden Marcels.
