so why will this work when setanta failed?
are they showing more games? do they need less people to subscribe or can they just run it at a loss in the uk?
i'm tempted to sign up if it is in hd and they had a range of quality sports to compliment the football.

ESPN has a strong desire to expand globally, so I presume they see this as an opportunity to enter the UK/ROI market. I suspect that they may be willing to take an initial loss if it means long term success. They are owned by the Disney group so have enormous financial clout. I recall reading that Sky was even willing to prop up Setanta, so as to keep them as a weak competitor, as this was better than having the ESPN behemoth enter the fray.
