I watched a bit of this and was amazed at how naff they were. The keeper was woeful, and whenever they passed to each other they just waited for the ball to reach them and seemed startled when the Germans intercepted the ball. Talk about confirming stereotypes! All that hype about how much improved the women's game is and they still looked, well, like a bunch of girls!

What schools did you go to?? Obviously not in the A teams anyway, unless your county played in full sized goals as kids.
 
My favourite bit was when Germany brought on their last sub. The bloke commentating went on about how she was a popular and experienced striker, and then the woman who was co-commentator added, 'Aye, and she always comes on wearing full make-up!'

I played in full size goals from year 3. I think that's like 9 years old?
 
I watched some of the match. I thought England's goalkeeper was quite pretty.

I know it's unfair to make comparisons, but a bad pub team of men could beat either of the two women's teams on the basis of that performance.
 
They will be demanding the same money as the men's game next , just like the women in tennis.
How can the women claim the same prize-money they play less sets and people only watch it when there is nothing else to watch

Have you noticed that when the England women's football or cricket teams win, when the men's teams have lost, the journalists usually make remarks that the men could learn a few lessons from the women.

When the women's teams lose, they never say that they could learn a few lessons form the men.

The headline in the Guardian yesterday. In fairness I'd love to see the look on Sam Allardyce's face when he's told the news.

Women get filmed playing football because they're women and it's a bit of a novelty - and the sooner they realise this the better.

It'll be axed eventually 'cos everyone will get bored of watching shite football.

Yes, and there were no clips afterwards of all the times when passes were intercepted because the English women were just waiting for the ball as if it was a baton in a relay! But they've picked up the 'essentials' I see - when the pixie-like number 7 scored she pranced up and down the touchline pointing at her name on the back of her shirt. Yes, dear, very nice - NOW WHERE'S ME TEA!?! (Only joking!)
