What role does Tore Andre Flo have, other than being Norwegian and playing for that club 20 years ago?

Flo has been working for Chelsea for years, and is now responsible for player development and all their player loans I think.
He's also good friends with Haalands dad.

And he would have seen the sheer inconsistency in Chelsea and their strategy.

I reckon it's Dortmund and then off to Spain

Yeah, I hope so too. Dont want to end up despising him for signing for that plastic club or any other of our rivals.

The way FSG and Klopp operate, it is not low risk even at 10 or 20 million. Even if Daka is not that great, Klopp will have him for a year or two as he is a loyal guy. And I don't think FSG will sanction a "take a punt" signing at 17 million and another actual signing. We can't afford another Minamino, Tsmikas, Keita-type signing.

We have a narrow window left with this team to compete for the league and CL and this team deserves it. The new attacking signing whether it is a striker, winger, attacking midfielder needs to have a Jota level impact. That will be the difference between winning trophies or yet another season spent on chasing CL places. It is not about the actual money spent, 10 or 50 million. It is about the cost of this signing not working out.

A year or two? Even shite players get 5 or 6 years under Klopp, and then a glowing tribute when he's eventually forced to let them leave because the club won't offer them a new contract.

[article]Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka is “very keen” to join Liverpool this summer, Football Insider has learned.

The Zambian goal machine, 22, is wanted by top teams across the Premier League and Europe after grabbing Erling Haaland’s goal mantle at the Austrian club.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Liverpool have made contact about what it would take to lure Daka in the current window.

The player himself is said to be “very keen” on heading to a club like Liverpool as he plots the next move in his career.

The source explained that it is likely to cost around £17million to land Daka, who has three years left on his contract.

The prolific forward is expected to leaving Salzburg this summer following an outstanding 2020-21 campaign that ended in him winning the Austrian Bundesliga player of the season.

The Zambia international has already snubbed the possibility of a move to either West Ham or French club Monaco.

He has set his sights higher on a Champions League calibre club after being placed on the target list of multiple top clubs.

Liverpool represent an intriguing option as they look to recruit a number nine who can provide quality and competition for Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohammad Salah and Diogo Jota.

Daka has proved to be every bit as effective in front of goal as his Salzburg predecessor Haaland.

Daka scored 27 league goals from just 21 starts last season, and a remarkable 34 goals as well as 12 assists from 42 matches in all competitions.

In 125 matches for Salzburg, Daka has 68 goals and has also laid on 27 assists.

Just sign him FFS - he’ll offer more that Origi and there’ll be some team that we can flog Origi to for enough to cover Daka’s cost.

He can play wide or central - and plays for a shit African country that fails to qualify for AFCON half the time.

He’s 22 - which means he won’t be 30 for at least 2 years.

I kind of think Daka is in a similar place to Virgil when he left Celtic - he’s clearly better than the level he’s at, but it’s not clear if he’s Big Six level. You’d like to see him go to a mid-table club to prove his worth, but you know his value would rocket. If we were smart, we’d be all over his agent to get him to a mid-table premier league club but with a big-club release clause in his contract so if he proves himself we could sign him, but not at a huge premium (like what happens when Salzburg players move to Liepzig). Problem is if we sign him and he isn’t immediately top class then we won’t be able to give him the minutes he needs to develop, but we also don’t have the money to tie up in a player who we’ll be putting out on loan to learn his trade. Bit of a dilemma all around.

He is available at the moment for a reported £17m, if he makes it at a midtable club his value will shoots pass £60m, which is marquee level. If you look at the Haaland situation, when he was available for £17m, and many of us said he isn't ready and now look at his value. We can't compete with Man City or Chelsea unless we sell one of our top talents. So we need to look for players who have a high ceiling.

Yeah, it's the perfect situation for him at LFC atm. Being an understudy to Firmino.

We're also linked with Donyell Malen, he's available for 26 mill £.
Might be one of those two maybe.

Sign a guy who scores 27 goals a season and have him sit on the bench learning from a guy that scores about 7 goals a season? Let's see how that works out

We should be signing a replacement for Firmino not a back up.

Not really how I meant it...
The PL is on a different tier of football compared to the Austrian league.
Might be good having him in the squad without the pressure of being our main striker. I'm not expecting Firmino to mentor him or whatever.

I take it you don't rate him?
I know nothing about him.

There’s a couple of old books about him. Some of them are quite extreme. No one has actually seen him although some have claimed to have been touched by him.

For others he’s quite the creator.
