You'll notice I spelt it correctly!

Watching us shows with cops in, esp dexter, followed by some recent rereading of Michael Connelly's excellent Harry Bosch series has perked my interest in the us consumption of 'donuts'.

Are they really eaten as a breakfast food?! It seems there constantly bought into work in the morning on shows & in one of the Harry bosch books the character states that 11am is too late for them.

As they're a sugary food that are eaten as an afternoon snack of dessert here in the UK I find that extremely strange & tbh somewhat sickening.

Part of me is thinking it's a Hollywood creation whereas part of me is just curious as to whether it's like in Australia, where people wake much earlier & have a life before work, which is a foreign concept in the UK.

This is mindless musing, but as we have us based posters on here & many others who have experienced the us I'd like to know!
