I liked his love of the club, didnt like his wife beating but I'd still have him over N'gog.
she probably deserved it.
Can we not?
Even if it is a joke.
I hear ya Marquis, but some people (male or female) do deserve a slap. Im not pro-spousal abuse or anything but i saw her on that Cooking thing for about twenty minutes and i wanted to cave her fucking head in. Vacuous Vapid cunt.
I want to make a clever correlation between him hitting her and him being offside a lot

i can't

she is a fuckign irritating woman however
You should try something like she always managed to get on the wrong side of him, traits like that are why they married, etc.

Needs a helluva lorra tweaking that.
see i was thinking that, but i didn't want to have to explain the joke in the same message, and if i didn't people might be like "wha?" and i decided the whole fiasco was an exercise in futility anyways

still, he was always poor with the line of offense!

*ashamed*

Look, I understand where you are coming from, however talk of a woman (or a man for that matter) "deserving it" makes me incredibly ill at ease. It is often the excuse used by those perpetrating spousal abuse and isn't something I find to be funny.

In regards to Cisse, I didn't mind him while he was at the club, but I don't know if him coming back is a positive step.

I don't mind Cisse returning to Liverpool to take residence at his estate. However, I don't want him anywhere near our club.

He has a lot of love for us and he did try when he was with us but he ain't good enough. That's the bottom-line!

Agreed

I see a few answers similar to what I think
I feel incredibly let down by Cisse, I thought he was yet another missing link that was going to make a real difference, he wasn't , he was a let down, not only that he was pretty thick when it came to positional sense and understanding what offside meant, but because he is another Lladro figurine.
He was Linford Christie in footy boots, all pace but very little else, someone compared him to Babel earlier, not far off, but he did have (quite) a little more about him than our Ryan.
Would I have him back? Well for the right money and the right role , yes (sadly).
We should have four capable strikers in the squad, up to now we have Torres, Jovanovic, Dirk and need another back up, which could be Djibs.
Ideally we need someone in between Torres and Jovanovic, where Jovanovic and Kuyt would be battling for the third striker role....of course Dirk might find due to injuries he gets picked as a capable utility player. If we can't find or get someone it still leaves us with a lot more cover than last year (and most of the year before)

regards

This is exactly my point - no one is claiming he is Pele, but is he better than NGog? Fo-fucking-sho.

I'm really not sure 'better than N'gog' should be our remit for new strikers going forward. Ideally, we need someone closer to Torres, than N'gog.

That said, if Djibs is the best we can do with our budget constraints - well, as cripplingly depressing as that is, we would seriously have to consider it. I'd like to think there's a bargain somewhere who offers more though. There *must* be.

WE HAVE NO MONEY.

WE HAVE NO MONEY.

WE HAVE NO MONEY!

I get everything you say Del, but we do seem to have selective attention when it comes to the facts here...... one person will posit that Cisse might be a good option, others will say yes if the prioce is right, then someone will say "but Dzeko is available, we should be taking the opportunity to go for him" - its fucking infuriating.

I accept that Cisse isnt the ideal candidate, but is he better than most of the other options we can afford? In my view probably yes - he knows and likes the club, has something to prove, and offers us something up front that we need (yes, yes, nay sayers, the ability to work the linesmans biceps on a constant basis is a fringe benefit).

I agree with this, in particular the bold part because Cisse is/was crap.

It's a long while since he was here though, and he failed to make an impression at Sunderland. Sunderland!

Of course, part of me knows you're right, another part refuses to accept it. And a small piece of me still thinks there's a better option, no matter how well hidden it might be.

Craig Bellamy? Miroslav Klose?

It did amuse me slightly where he talked about other clubs he likes. As if Arsenal or either City or United are going to be going for him!

R-iiiiii-ght - that would be the same Craig Bellamy that has gone for 6m and 85k a week (and expects to play every week) and Miroslav Klose who has just had a brilliant WC, who we dont know is available, and who will have an admirable number of suitors should he decide to move.....

.....as opposed to the approx 2m 40k per week Cisse.

Cisse seems to have ideas above his station, so it's debatable whether he'd settle for 40k p/w. That said, I get the reasoning, as 3rd/4th choice he's a vast improvement on N'Gog, but I wouldn't mind the scouts/Dalglish/Hodgson fishing around for someone young and promising who could fill in. Big ask I know.

Taken from Wiki:

On 25 June 2009, the French striker signed a four year contract with Greek Super League club Panathinaikos. It was reported that the player would earn €2.5 million per year, while French club Marseille would get an estimated €8 million as a transfer fee. The total cost of the transfer is about €20 million, taking into account the various bonuses. He scored 23 goals in 28 games for Panathinaikos, more than double than any other player in Greece.

I don't think we'd get him for £2m.

The same Craig Bellamy would rightfully walk into our side either up front or out left and... oh never mind...
