I won't be going back to Old Trafford unless it's on a corporate invite or whatever, because last year was really bad and I should have just stuck at the 4-1, I mean it's unlikely to get better than that.

I know it won't be a popular view but I reckon this fixture should just be for the kids. If you're too old to be playing professional footy you're too old to be going to Old Trafford, that's my view. We should pack off our best 4000 lunatic teens with bags of coke and party packs of cider and tell them to get on with it, for Sparta.

I'm pretty sure I lip-read Stevie saying "fuck off, you Manc prick !", as he was leaving the pitch, after the red card on Sunday.

It did make me laugh.

I've been once to watch us at Old Trafford.

Unfortunately I was in the Stretford End.

I have no desire to do this again

I would've loved to see that.

I just saw it in my head. No effort at all.

Wasn't it a bit like it was directed at you then?

I'm not going to picture Howard Fucking Webb, that's for sure.

I just saw him rubbing Webb's head in a load of turd as well. Not sure about that image to be honest.

This!

Its all very well in the cold light of day to moralise about unsavoury chanting, but it has most definitely become tit for tat - if you're sitting there watching literally hundreds of fans mime being crushed, whilst thousands of others chant "murderers"/ "you kill your own fans" I can see why you would want to get into a bit of retaliation.

As an aside I very very very rarely here the Munich song at Anfield (and have in actual fact seen it shouted down by our own fans on the rare occasions it has been started up) - yet it gets an airing at Old Toilet where we get loads of abuse...funny that...

I guess the point being made by posters earlier in the thread about supporting from Europe/further afield is that you probably get more opportunity for logical reason, and dont run into this bullshit quite so regularly; therefore when you do encounter it, you are likely to be more shocked/surprised.

And I also agree with Krump's sentiments - youve got to be mental going there without being prepared to see some unpalatable sights both from our own and opposing fans - taking your mrs or the kids? Retarded. "Reasonably" you should be able to, but then again "reasonably" you should be able to go for a starlit walk through Newham with your dearly beloved and not run the risk of both of you getting robbed and bummed to death....

I did see someone there with his daughter of about 11 at the match - even the bloke next to me commented that he wouldn't bring his kids to Old Trafford.

There was also some lad in a limo travelling down Trafford Park Road shouting Munich at all the street sellers that were packing away - that made me cringe as the game was over yet he seemed so happy with himself.

Yep. This was my point but I really didn't elaborate in my post. The Munich song is rarely heard at Anfield, except when we play them. The murderers, Hillsborough and all the other chants about us occur pretty much in every home game for Utd, not just when they play us. But we are obsessed with them of course...
