Dear Rafa

Not open for further replies.
A sign of the times is that there were plenty of empty seats in the ground on Monday night. Until recently you couldn't get a ticket for a home Premier League game for love nor money. Now the club is sending out emails inviting us to buy them!

At this rate we are not going to need a new stadium! :🙂

Neither.

I just think it's some of our fans getting behind us during the match.
Pretty fucking sad day when you have to justify supporters supporting at the match.

You can all fuck off to be honest, I don't give a flying fuck.
Rafa has ground this team into the fucking dirt, we are a shadow of our former selves and when I look at United and Arsenal turning good teams over I realise exactly how far we have fallen behind.

Support the team as much as we can, support the club even more, and give credit where it is due, fantastic, but to give credit to the manager on his more attacking team selection last night and it worked after everyone has known for weeks , months , years even, that is what it takes, particularly against dross teams at home, when it is all but too late is naive in the extreme, and yes a bit thick.

I don't. In some ways I care less, because I don't have anything to prove anyway

But I'm just positing the theory that if you've been going to Anfield for 40 years, it's entirely possible (and well within your right) that you might feel a little aggrieved with how shit we've been under Benitez this season and unwilling to engage in polite, lengthy, web-based dialogue about the value of eight, slow defensive players in your starting XI, when all you really want to do is call someone a cunt.

So having a pop at someone who goes to Anfield regularly about the quality and level of their support of Benitez and/or some of his shit players, would appear to be fucking laughable.

And don't start me on what Liverpool supporters should be, or act like - I am one - and trust me, one thing that does stand out is that Liverpool fans hate, above everything else, getting beat.

There's even songs about it, and here's a pertinent line for those who don't get to go very often:

"We're a right shower of bastards when we lose!"

Completely. I knew the Rafa apologists in the Kop would pipe up last night right on cue. He's had his chance and fucked it. I completely concur with what Vlads saying here.

Nobody is saying what supporters should or shouldn't act like Bren/Sunny. I just don't think that just because some fans got behind the team and Rafa last night that they should be labelled as "thick".

I might not get to Anfield more than a few times a season(if i'm lucky), but i'll never buy into this shit about ooters feeling less emotionally attached to OUR club.

If their support and chanting 'Rafa Rafael' means they've forgotten how shit we've been this season and who's been in charge of that time, who's selected the team, tactics, who's bought (and not played) the players, then yes.

They're thick.

I think the problem isn't match goers vs OOT-ers.

The problem is some of us aren't content to wallow in mediocrity.

OK, that's fair enough.

See? I can simultaneously agree and disagree with everyone.

nothing wrong with backing the manager through thick and thin. I back rafa as long as he is in charge, I'll stop when the owners deem he is no longer fit to do the job.

So your basicly backing the owners through thick and thin....

for me the bottom line is kuyt will be given his place back in the team he wont have to earn his place back in the team and for me that's why there is aparthy in the squad compared to manu because at manu if you slump you get hooked, end of fucking story.
X2 - flippin infuriating that the likes of Lucas and Kuyt can seem to do no wrong in his eyes, no matter how shit they play and someone like Babel can have a couple of good games then is benched for the next 3 (if not more) only to come on when theres less than 10mins to go.

no, I'm saying booing or witholding support at the game helps no one, I've leave the big decisions to the people that make the big decisions.

Not a single fan on here is content for us to wallow in mediocrity mate! It's just that quite a few of us have different views about what is the best way forward for LFC.

Of course there is Neil. If he's not performing then why should we back him ? We support the club yes but if people are letting the club down do they deserve are unbridled support ? Not in my view.

I like Rafa as a person but he's failing.

Within reason so am i Spidey.

I can fully understand why some have given up on Rafa, and would not utter a word when certain songs start up. I just don't get why it's being frowned upon (or criticized), when LFC fans who are still with Rafa choose to show their support?

can't talk for anyone else (probably for the best ha ha 😉 ) but when I look at a manager and his progress I look at the length of time he has been in the job, the amount of cups he has won, the amount of challenges, player bought and for me rafa hasn't worn away my patience nor do I think we have reached a point that rafa can't take us any further. I felt that in the winter slump of last year (after which we came close to winning the league), and I feel it now. each to their own.

I totally get why some have lost faith with rafa but I'm not having someone tell me I shouldn't sing his name because we've been in a slump.

I won't sing his name because of his negative tactics and his refusal to do something about it. Last night was what we've been crying out for but is it a one-off ? I hope not but only time will tell.

The simple fact is if you go to the game regularly you've got more invested into the club; more emotionally, physically, mentally; more sacrifices have to be made; the highs are higher; the lows are lower

I wouldn't call those who were singing Benitez's name "thick", I know I wouldn't sing it. But I would suggest there's a fine line between being faithful and a dumb fuck Geordie. Let's hope we don't turn into the later and be able to see the wood through the trees.

That's because Kuyt has proved himself for us over many games for years, whereas Babel has not.

A lecture in how to support you club from someone who's spent this entire season calling our players "cunts" and hoping they get injured, and/or die. Not a one off, that's been your contribution.

You referred to Lucas as a "cunt" 7 times in one match thread, you only had 8 posts in the fucking thread. So you'll forgive me for hahaha'ing right in your fucking face for this whopping irony overload.

That wasn't really my point, I shouldn't really have to spell it out, but here goes;

Vlad and Sunny and whoever have earned the right to show their support (or lack thereof) however they see fit

I could myself singing the "rafa" part of the song then bit my lip. I was swept up in the moment because of the first bit of enjoyable football for months. I felt dirty

Like wanking into a pot noodle dirty
