Having a non boring surname makes naming kids more difficult than it should be.

I love the name's 'Autumn' or 'Star' for a girl, but Autumn Fox is obviously a porn star name, and Star Fox could be either a porn star or retro gaming name. Neither is appropriate unfortunately.

One of my first jobs involved processing forms of kids details. I was on the team that did 'Smith', & we always got the most bizarre first names. Twins called hot & cold, fire & ice (different parents, not related at all) were my best find, but we had a family where they named all their five kids after car brands, & a family where they used colours including red & blue!

I did have a conversation with my daughter recently when we were discussing which of her physical traits came from me & which from her Mum. Its obvious she does not have a "Bradley bum",so she had to admit to having a "Brown bum"

A girl in my class at school had the surname Ball. Her middle name was Ophelia.

Years ago at work I dealt with the case of a kid whose surname was Pee. Wouldn't you have wanted to change that well before you had a kid if you were one of the parents?
