I don't think age is as a factor as the physical condition of the player. It depends upon how he has looked after himself, whether he's had an injury free career or not, etc.

Meireles is no spring chicken by football standards and he's slotted right in. There's countless more too.

Were we linked with Lavezzi, im sure I remember us being quoted around £13 million which would be a great deal.

Ha, great pic.

Poulsen is looking like the worst signing of the season so far, and will be gone sooner rather than later. Hopefully Comolli can sort some of our transfer dealings out. Cause at the moment we're using a lot of money on mediocre shite that gets shipped out nearly as soon as they come in.

I don't think he's been at fault for passing it backwards to often but more so of looking like he's a hundred yard of the pace.

At this stage there's no doubt that Poulsen are odds on to be one of the worst signings in the Prem this Season.

Sad but true.

It's a bit scary really and they are certainly not the cheapest players brought in either.

I know it's from Goal.com, but yay!!!

Liverpool are ready to ditch Christian Poulsen just months after he signed for the club, Goal.com UK can reveal.

The Danish midfielder has failed to impress since his £4.5 million summer move from Juventus and could be on his way out of Anfield as soon as January.

New director of football strategy Damien Comolli does not believe Poulsen has a future at Liverpool and wants to bring in a younger replacement with more potential.

It is believed manager Roy Hodgson would back the sale of the former Sevilla star but only if an upgrade can be brought in as he is concerned by the small size of his squad.

Poulsen, 30, has lost his place in the Reds starting line-up over the last few weeks after a series of substandard performances at the start of the season. (Goal.com)

Hopefully he means Defour.

I would be very happy if we shipped Poulsen out and got a replacement.

If we can achieve that it will be a positive transfer window for us. We can't really expect more in January.

But if there is a chance, i would also like to do a similar deal for Babel. Ship Babel out and get another Center Forward.

That would be a super transfer window, and go a long way towards us finding a way back into the top 4.

For every other club in Europe the January transfer window represents an opportunity to add a decent acquisition to the squad, addressing a weakness which has been exposed in the opening half of the season.

For Liverpool FC it's an opportunity to ship out the shit buys we bought 6 months previous at a financial loss.

Its the way its been as long as I can remember..

Hahaha Avmenon, I thought that the only rational explanation is that Poulsen is in a wheelchair.

Great commentary by the way on the Napoli game.
