The vote for project restart which was due to take place tomorrow has been cancelled.

Rumours that at least 8 clubs would have voted against it in it's current guise.

Talks will resume tomorrow on a route forward.

Where is that? I’ve just scanned the mirror, independent and guardian and all they mention is the othe clubs saying they want to play at home too. It’s the police and government pushing for the neutral venues. It’s the same for everyone. Those pushing for Europe would like home advantage but realise it’s not possible.

Pauler Barber looks like the 2nd biggest cunt in football, right behind Mike Ashley.

Ok maybe third, I'll through Jon Moss in 2nd.

How are the Brighton players even being tested? Liverpool's players aren't being tested yet, nor are any other clubs as far as I'm aware. If there's a problem the medics can come in but otherwise that process hasn't even started yet. They've been in lockdown for about a month and now they're infected? It sounds really very dodgy.

A third Brighton player has tested positive for coronavirus.

The unnamed player, who will now self isolate for 14 days, was tested on Saturday - two other players tested positive earlier in the pandemic.
Brighton players have been training individually at the training ground and the club say this will be allowed to continue.
Premier League clubs are due to meet on Monday for more discussions about their proposed Project Restart plan.

"It is a concern," Brighton chief executive Paul Barber told Sky Sports "Despite all of the measures that we've been taking over the past few weeks, where the players haven't been involved in any significant training at all, we've still suffered another player testing positive for the virus."

I expect more people form other teams to come down with it... We have seen already that too many of them are too immature the follow social distancing and with the weather since Bank Holiday Friday and The Bank Holiday Monday still to come I am willing to bet that there are more than a few willing to chance their arm, if they have not done so already

If you have the money you can buy a test yourself from £189,00

I am guessing that he showed symptoms of the Coronavirus and either he, or the Club had him tested privately

Yep theres two obvious problems here, firstly that players have shown a small number of them are absolutely incapable of following restrictions and will break the rules for something really important like a haircut or a sex party with 3 brassers. The second is testing, as soon as the clubs ramp up testing, which will be a requirement for a restart, they are going to start flagging lots of asymptomatic players who have been infected. I dont see this restart happening anytime soon.

It seems that COVID is particularly dangerous for the elderly, those with underlying health conditions and football clubs threatened with potential relegation (Brighton, Dresden .. )

A West Ham player will also test positive soon I reckon.

Well they’re fucked as the FA want relegation.

That headline is very misleading. The majority of 10 teams would be 6. So it’s the same 6 as it was last week.

'Majority of bottom-half PL clubs want relegation axed'

Seems to be getting very messy this

This is one of the reasons why the Premier League's delusion that it exists in some kind of vacuum needs ending once and for all. Don't these clubs realise this isn't an issue that can get sorted quickly and then foisted on to the Championship? For anything like that, there's an obvious need for all the leagues beneath the PL to be part of the decision-making process. The sheer arrogance of these clubs to keep making these kinds of demands without even referencing the repercussions is madness.

And anyway, the PL should've made this crystal clear before now: tell all the clubs, once and for all, that relegation and promotion will happen, no matter what option is taken in terms of concluding the season. All of this squabbling should have been ended ages ago.

And so long as the PL sits back and keeps inviting other complaints, such as about neutral grounds, certain clubs will just keep raising objections to keep the process stalled. If they object to any proposal, put the pressure on them to come up with an alternative, then vote on it and move on. At the moment this is like being forced to watch an old Little Britain sketch: 'So you're happy with this one, then?' 'Nah, don't like it...'

A sports lawyer on the radio this morning said that the FA can and would legally insist on it, because of the effect that any change would have beyond the Premier League. According to him no strategy by the Prem which purports to do away with promotion and relegation would be lawful.

I always though Noble was a decent pro. He certainly puts to shame those porno poltroons who run his club:

West Ham United captain Mark Noble has taken the moral high ground over Karren Brady in a show of support for Liverpool.

Brady once again used her column at the weekend to raise doubts about a safe return to action.

Speaking to former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp at the weekend, though, Hammers skipper Noble insisted West Ham and the other clubs must return behind closed doors – even into October if they have to – for the sake of Liverpool.

Morally I don’t think it’s right (to say the season should be null and void),” Noble told Jamie and Harry Redknapp’s Home Fixtures from lockdown.

“I think we’ve obviously all got to take into consideration the world we’re living in at the minute. But I think we should play behind closed doors when it is safe, I think we all understand that I don’t think we’re going to play in front of crowds this season.

“But I just think it would be an absolute disaster on Liverpool if that (null and void) happens. Because they thoroughly deserve to win the league this year and I just don’t think morally that can happen Jamie to be honest.

“I think even if we went into October time. I think we should just get it finished this season and worry about next season after that.”

Hmm I see teams fighting relegation in both Germany and England are testing positive for Covid 19..

Funny That .

Just Sayin..

Always rated him - there was a time when I wouldn't have minded us going in for him, though I suspect he'd never have left W.Ham.

He is of course absolutely right. It amazes me, though it probably shouldn't, that so much attention is given to mithering about next season when the obvious answer is to void that if voiding becomes necessary and use the time to round this one off, not just for LFC's sake.either.

I'm not sure why it's even a discussion, relegation needs to happen regardless, no idea why the question is even asked or talked about.

Because it's a matter of tens of millions of pounds and all the affected clubs can reasonably argue the season hasn't been played out fairly.

It's so obviously a legal minefield, this. I do actually think the best solution would be no relegation and just 2 up and down in the other leagues, if you could get them to agree.

That won’t work because none of the current league would want to dilute their income. Add to that we will have a shortened season for 20-21 so we wouldn’t be able to squeeze an additional 4 fixtures in. Unless international friendlies and domestic cup games are scrapped.
