[article=http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/leicester-city-sign-ngolo-kante-2589633.aspx#IgKi8cGITu8JrqsS.99]Leicester City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of N’Golo Kanté from French Ligue 1 side Caen on a four-year deal.

The 24-year-old Frenchman arrives for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and approval from the Premier League and the Football Association, adding fierce competition to the Club’s central midfield ranks ahead of the Barclays Premier League opener against Sunderland on 8 August.

N’Golo, who will wear the No.14 shirt, is City’s fourth new signing of the summer after the arrivals of Robert Huth, Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki and is the first under new manager Claudio Ranieri.

The Foxes beat off firm competition to secure the signature of Kanté, whose tenacious and tough tackling approach has seen him catch the eye of a number of teams across Europe.

Born in Paris in 1991, Kanté’s footballing career began with US Boulogne, where he came through the youth ranks to make his first team debut against AS Monaco in May 2012.

His impressive performances for US Boulogne saw Caen swoop for his talents in 2013. That faith was quickly rewarded as Kanté played 38 games en route to a promotion from the French Ligue 2 in the 2013/14 campaign.

A further 37 appearances and two goals in 2014/15 underlined his potential and, in the fast-paced and competitive environment of the Premier League, the Frenchman’s energetic playing style is widely tipped to make him a success in England. [/article]

[article=http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/leicester-city-sign-yohan-benalouane-2590611.aspx#LDeYQopU11xhqQfF.99]Defender Yohan Benalouane has completed a move to Leicester City on a four-year deal subject to international clearance and Premier League and FA approval.

The 28-year-old centre back arrives from Serie A side Atalanta for an undisclosed fee and will add some healthy competition to Claudio Ranieri’s defensive line ahead of Saturday’s Barclays Premier League opener against Sunderland. He will wear the no.29 shirt.

Standing at 6ft 2ins, Benalouane is blessed with both pace and power alongside a composure on the ball that should make him a good fit for the challenges of Premier League football.

A former France Under-21 international, Yohan has since opted to represent Tunisia at international level and arrives with an impressive track record at club level in both Italy and France.

After coming through the ranks at French side Saint-Etienne, Benalouane’s performances in Ligue 1 earned him a move to Italy in 2010, when he signed for newly promoted Cesena in Serie A.

Two solid seasons for the Italian outfit earned him another move to Parma, initially on loan in the summer of 2012. After helping lift his team to a 10th placed finish in 2012/13, he joined Atalanta on loan in January 2014 before making that deal permanent at the end of the season.

Last term Benalouane’s performances at the heart of Atalanta’s defence provided a solid foundation for a campaign that saw the Italian side amass 37 point total en route to securing Serie A survival in impressive fashion. [/article]

CLgUDQ6WUAAYf_K.jpg

[article]French club Olympique Lyonnais have announced an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Brazilian right-back Rafael, who is set to sign a four-year contract at Stade de Gerland.

The 25-year-old underwent a medical in Lyon today and will be officially unveiled at a press conference this week.

It brings to a close an eight-year association with United after Rafael joined the club alongside twin brother Fabio. He made his first-team debut against Newcastle in August 2008 and went on to make 170 appearances for the Reds, scoring five goals.

Rafael was a popular figure with fans at Old Trafford and he tweeted: "I want to thank Manchester United fans for all the love during those eight years."

In a heartfelt farewell, he continued: "Since I signed with the club I [have] lived incredible moments… eight years wearing the shirt of one of the biggest clubs of the world. Thank you @ManUtd. I also want to thank all employees who always treated me with great affection and gave me greater attention.

"Thank you United Kingdom, I learned a lot in this country, as a player, and no doubt as a human being, lessons that I will keep for the rest of my life. Thank you Sir Alex Ferguson for always believing in my work and for all the doors that you opened up to me. Now it’s a new path, a new challenge, God bless me!"

His former colleagues also took to Twitter to pay tribute to their departing teammate. David De Gea posted a picture of himself with Rafael during United’s 20th title celebrations in 2013: "You are one of the best guys that I know. I am sure that you will succeed in your new adventure, you’re top.”

Captain Wayne Rooney tweeted: "Good luck Rafa, we will all miss you." Ashley Young replied to Rafa’s earlier tweet, saying: "All the best Rafa aka Rafinho, wish you all the best at Lyon." And Phil Jones added: “Good luck Rafael in the start of your new adventure! Top player and top professional!”

Michael Carrick chipped in by tweeting: "8 years? Took me 4 to tell the difference between you and Fab. Good luck Raf, will miss you mate. It's been a pleasure."

Everyone at the club would like to wish Rafael well in the future.[/article]

[article=http://www.seagulls.co.uk/news/article/bobby-zamora-returns-to-brighton-and-hove-albion-2591390.aspx#kLxGBFoG6MJBBVyc.99]Brighton & Hove Albion have tonight completed the signing of striker Bobby Zamora on a one-year contract.

The former England international, who left Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season, made his name with Albion, scoring 83 goals in just over three seasons between 2000 and 2003.

He passed a medical at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre this evening, before signing the paperwork to complete his move back to the Albion.

Manager Chris Hughton said, "We are absolutely delighted to have brought Bobby back to Brighton. He needs absolutely no introduction here. The Albion fans know everything about him, from his achievements in a Brighton shirt and right through his time with Spurs, West Ham, Fulham and QPR.

"I also know Bobby well, having worked with him during his time at Spurs, and he is a great professional; I know he will bring plenty of experience to the team, having played Premier League, European and international football.

"He will also bring a lot in terms of character to the club and to the dressing room - but most importantly, having played more than 30 times for QPR last season, he brings top quality to our offensive options.

"We still have work to do in terms of adding to the squad, including those offensive options, in terms of creating and scoring goals."

Zamora joined Albion for £100,000 in the summer of 2000, having impressed during a loan spell the previous season - scoring six goals in six games under then manager Micky Adams.

After helping the Seagulls win back-to-back championships in 2001 and 2002, he eventually moved to Spurs for a record transfer fee received of £1.5m.

Subsequent moves to West Ham, Fulham and QPR followed; he helped Fulham reach the Europa League Final in 2010; he was called up to the England squad during Fabio Capello's time in charge, but injury ruled him out of that year's World Cup Finals. [/article]

Adam Le Fondre - Wolves (loan with option to buy)
CLgYqwXWcAABtrR.jpg

[article=http://www.wolves.co.uk/news/article/le-fondre-deal-done-2591275.aspx#7LIiMQWidhpSlDQp.99]Wolves are pleased to announce the arrival of striker Adam Le Fondre on a season-long loan from Cardiff City.

The prolific 28-year-old frontman today completed a medical and has sealed a deal which will see him join the squad at Molineux.

There is also an option within the deal for Wolves to make it permanent.

Head Coach Kenny Jackett confirmed earlier today that the striker was due at the club for talks and a deal has now been concluded.

"I am delighted that we have brought Adam to Wolves," said Jackett.

"He is a proven goalscorer who will bring experience and competition to the club."

“We are really pleased to bring Adam to the club,” added Head of Football Development and Recruitment Kevin Thelwell.

“He has a proven goalscoring pedigree with a terrific strike rate in both the Championship and the Premier League.

“We have been chasing him for a long time and are delighted that he is now a Wolves player.”

Le Fondre boasts an impressive goals to games ratio throughout his career, notching 172 from 298 starts and 144 appearances as a substitute.

He started his career with home town club Stockport County before joining Rochdale and then Rotherham.

It was in August, 2011, that he made what was then a step up in level from Rotherham to Reading, scoring 12 goals as the Royals secured promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

He then scored 14 times in the top flight in the 2012/13 campaign, including goals against Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

He was also named the Premier League Player of the Month for January, 2013.

Reading were relegated but Le Fondre maintained his scoring form the following season, 15 goals including hat tricks in successive home games against Bolton and Blackpool.

Having joined Cardiff at the start of last season, Le Fondre spent the second half of the campaign on loan with Bolton, scoring eight goals in 17 appearances.

Under the terms of his loan Le Fondre will be unavailable for Wolves’ two Sky Bet Championship fixtures with Cardiff this season.[/article]

Chuba Akpom - Hull (loan)

[article=http://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/article/tigers-sign-akpom-on-season-long-loan-from-arsenal-2592413.aspx#pxa5cTSu1OdigweM.99]The Tigers have completed a deal to sign striker Chuba Akpom on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

19-year-old Akpom, a current England U20 international, joined up with his new team-mates this morning and further enhances manager Steve Bruce’s attacking options ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship season opener against Huddersfield Town.

Akpom is highly regarded at the Emirates Stadium and arrives in East Yorkshire keen to build on senior experience already gained with the Gunners. The striker has nine appearances to his name since making his first team debut as a substitute in a win against Sunderland in September 2013, and he has also had previous loan spells with Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest.

The striker highlighted his talents when scoring a hat-trick for Arsenal against a Singapore Select XI in the Barclays Asia Trophy last month.

“I’m really happy to be here and it’s great to be able to sign for a club like this with the aim of gaining more experience,” said Akpom.

“The manager has been really welcoming and I’m really looking forward to helping this club to push for promotion.

“I feel as though this is a really massive opportunity for me because it’s set to be my first full season out on loan. I’ve had loan spells before, but they have just been for a month with a few games played.

“It’s going to be good to be here from the start. I went to watch the lads against Sheffield United on Sunday and everybody is raring to go for the season so hopefully we can all have a good one.”

19-year-old Akpom arrives at the KC Stadium having already made nine senior appearances for Arsenal, including run-outs in the Premier League and FA Cup, and the England U20 international admits the taste of top level football with the Gunners has left him hungry for more.

“When you play alongside world class players it just makes you want to be as good as them,” added Akpom.

“I feel that this loan move will only help to make me stronger and better as a player and add to my experience.

“The Championship is a really hard league. It’s physical, technical and a really fast division.

“It can be a hard league to get used to, but with the players that we have here and the experience that they have it should help me and make it easier to settle.”

Another factor in helping Akpom to settle in his new surroundings will be the presence of Arsenal colleague Isaac Hayden.

Hayden also recently joined the Tigers on loan from the Gunners and Akpom is looking forward to once again linking up with a player who has been a team-mate for many years.

“I’ve played with Isaac for a number of years now and it’s nice that he’s already here as it will help me to settle down,” continued Akpom.

“We’re from the same club, we play for the same England team and he is a very good player. We’re very familiar with how each other plays and it’s great that we’ve both come here at more or less the same time.”

Having trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Tuesday morning, Akpom is now looking forward to Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship opener against Huddersfield Town at the KC Stadium.

“I’m really looking forward to Saturday. A lot of people have told me how good the atmosphere and the fans are at the KC so hopefully we can get off to a good start.”[/article]

The winger went on to play for Leeds United before moving to St Etienne in 2011. He helped the side finish fifth in Ligue 1 last term and subsequently qualify for the Europa League.

Tomlin was one of the star players in the Sky Bet Championship last season, scoring ten goals in 50 appearances as Boro reached the play-off final.

“Lee is a player who we are excited about and will get fans off their seats,” chief executive Neill Blake said.

“He is someone we have followed for some time and believe will fit seamlessly into Eddie and Jason’s plans.

“The promotion race in the Championship last season was incredibly competitive and Lee was a key figure in a Middlesbrough side who went very close to going up.

“We believe he is ready to make the step up and look forward to seeing him play in the Premier League.

“Like the club, he has had to work hard to get to this point and is eager to make the most of this opportunity.

“We are very pleased with the business we have done this week, and on the whole this summer, and feel it is a marker of our ambitions this season.”

But the forward, who can also play in midfield, will now get the opportunity to play in the Barclays Premier League having risen through the divisions.

Having been released by hometown club Leicester City, he dropped into non-league, where he impressed for Rushden and Diamonds.

Peterborough United gave him the chance to play in the Football League and he won promotion through the play-offs in his first season at London Road.

The 26-year-old made the step up to the second tier and returned following the Posh’s relegation, moving to the Riverside on loan before making his stay permanent shortly afterwards.

Tomlin follows Max Gradel as the Cherries’ second signing in the final week before the start of the campaign and will be available to face Aston Villa at Vitality Stadium. [/article]

CLlUesyWcAACHeV.jpg

[article=http://www.wolves.co.uk/news/article/wolves-have-got-their-ojo-2593813.aspx]Wolves have completed a deal for Liverpool’s highly-rated young winger Sheyi Ojo which will see him spend the season on loan at Molineux.

The 18-year-old wideman has completed a medical and will join his new teammates on Thursday morning as the squad prepares to travel to Blackburn on Saturday.

Ojo enjoyed his first taste of senior football on loan with Wigan last season when he made 11 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship.

Born in Hemel Hempstead, Ojo was snapped up by the MK Dons Academy from the age of 10, before joining Liverpool in 2011, at the age of 14.

Whilst not having yet figured for Liverpool’s first team, he has been an unused substitute and is hailed as a player with plenty of potential for the future.

Ojo has represented England at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 levels.

He came off the bench in Liverpool’s friendly against Swindon on Sunday and scored the winner in a 2-1 victory.

The youngster revealed his delight at the move and explained that he can't wait to get going.

“It’s a great feeling," he said before adding: "I’m looking forward to the upcoming season. Hopefully we can have a good year and push for promotion.

“It’s a really good club. It’s got great facilities. All of the players are nice, they have welcomed me to the club and the staff are brilliant as well.

“Everything’s going well, I’m just looking forward to starting the season at the weekend."

Head of Football Development and Recruitment, Kevin Thelwell believes Ojo has a lot to offer during his time at Molineux.

“He’s a little bit different to what we’ve got. He’s out-and-out pace and power, he’s very direct, he’s got the ability to beat people one v one," explained Thelwell.

“He’s got the ability to assist, the ability to score and then he’s also got a very good personality.

“Even though he’s very young, he’s well rounded, his parents are very supportive and we think he’ll be a very good fit for us.

“He’s fit, he’s well and he’s been playing all of pre-season so we’re expecting for him to hit the ground running."[/article]

Ojo also signed a new long term contract with us before signing the loan with Wolves. Good news.

[article=http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/qpr-paul-konchesky-leicester-city-les-ferdinand-chris-ramsey-2593848.aspx#Qht2fqUOJLVQDAoX.99]QPR have bolstered their defensive options with the loan signing of Paul Konchesky.

The experienced left-back, who has made 550-plus appearances in the top two tiers during his career to date, has penned a season-long loan deal from Leicester City.

The 34 year-old could be in line to make his debut against Charlton Athletic – the club where his professional career began in 1997 and for whom he made more than 150 appearances in all competitions – in the R’s Sky Bet Championship season-opener on Saturday.

Head Coach, Chris Ramsey, expressed his delight at welcoming the former Liverpool and Fulham defender to Loftus Road, commenting: “I’m really pleased we’ve managed to get Paul in ahead of Saturday.

“Left-back is an area we’re light on in terms of numbers at the moment owing to a couple of injuries, so Paul will come in and compete for the shirt immediately.

“He’s got years of experience playing in both the Premier League and the Championship and he’ll come in and add that knowledge and know-how, as well as his undoubted defensive qualities, to the group.”

Konchesky, who will wear the number 15 shirt, told www.qpr.co.uk he is relishing the challenge ahead, commenting: “I just want to play football – so when QPR came in for me it was a fantastic opportunity.

“I know what QPR as a club are all about having played here over the years – the fans demand 100 per-cent and that’s what I give every time I step on to the pitch.

“I can’t wait to get going and help this club bounce back from last season’s relegation.”

R’s Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, added: “Paul is a proven performer, year on year, with a wealth of experience.

“He’s always been a physically fit player – his stats back that up – and the fact he played 29 times for Leicester last season shows he’s very much up for the challenge that lies in wait this season.

“We’re delighted to welcome him into the squad at a time when Yun (Suk-Young) and Armand (Traore) are both sidelined through injury. He’ll add great competition to our defensive options.”[/article]

[article=http://www.mkdons.com/news/article/andrews-appointed-first-team-coach-2593188.aspx#F11pwibQKxh4zymY.99]Keith Andrews has taken up a first-team coach role on a full-time basis.

Andrews, who captained the Dons to their double-winning success in 2007/08, returned to stadiummk in February as both a player and a support for management team.

However, the 34-year-old will not be registered as a player this season and will instead focus fully on working with the squad in their inaugural Sky Bet Championship campaign, alongside Karl Robinson and Head of Coaching Richie Barker.

Speaking to mkdons.com, Andrews said: “I absolutely love my new role and this is the perfect place for me to start learning.

“I think everybody knows how much I want to be here. It’s where I want to ply my trade and it’s a joy to work with everyone, in particular the young lads who I hope to have a real effect on in terms of coaching and analysis.

He continued: “I’m just obsessed with football. I never switch off for a second – even when I’m watching a game at home on the sofa, I’m analysing it. I’m just looking to evolve as I go along and it certainly won’t be through a lack of effort if I don’t to get to where I want to go to.”

Andrews began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers and made his senior debut for the Midlands club in March 2000.

He made 72 appearances for Wolves, while also enjoying loan spells at Oxford United, Stoke City and Walsall, before joining Hull City on a free transfer in May 2005.

Andrews spent just one season at the KC Stadium before moving to Milton Keynes during Martin Allen’s reign as Dons boss. The Irishman, who immediately became club captain, featured 40 times for the side that season as they reached the League 2 play-offs.

The following season, with his former Wolves teammate Paul Ince at the helm, Andrews continued to shine, netting 14 goals, including a penalty in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final victory at Wembley Stadium. He also scored the winning goal in the 3-2 triumph against Stockport County, one which secured the Club’s first-ever promotion from League 2.

The playmaker, who won the League 2 Player of the Year award for 2007/08 campaign, made three appearances at the start of the following season before joining Ince at Premier League side Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

After his departure, Andrews played in the top tier for the Rovers and West Bromwich Albion, as well as featuring regularly in the Championship for clubs including Ipswich Town, Bolton Wanderers, Brighton & Hove Albion and, more recently, Watford.

He has also played over 30 times for Republic of Ireland and was ever-present during their UEFA Euro 2012 campaign.

Andrews finishes his playing career having made 412 appearances in all competitions for 12 different clubs.

He won two trophies at club level, both with the Dons – the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and the League 2 title – while with the Republic of Ireland, he was able to lift the Nations Cup in 2011.

Andrews was also named League 2 Player of the Year in 2008 and Irish Player of the Year in 2012.[/article]

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man has penned a three year deal at Selhurst Park having left the Molineux side in the summer following the expiration of his contract, having scored 36 goals in 118 appearances in the Midlands.

On his new move, Sako said: "I talked to some clubs but when I met Alan [Pardew] I felt a good feeling between him and me and that's why I chose Palace.

"He plays attacking, attractive football so it should be good to play here and score some goals, that's why I came to join him.

"I've been doing my own pre-season training because Wolves gave me a programme before I left, and my cousin has a small academy so we trained together to keep my fitness levels up.

"I think I'm fit now but it's in the manager's hands to pick me so we'll see how my fitness is."

I want to play lots of games, score some goals and get some assists and enjoy myself. I'm confident about stepping up to the premier League so we'll see how it goes."

Born in France, the 27-year-old got his break in the professional game with Chateauroux in Ligue 2 in 2006 before earning a move to Saint-Etienne three years later, where he would become a regular in their side until Wolves snapped him up for £4 million in August 2012.

He would play a crucial role in the club's promotion from League One by finishing as joint top scorer and was named in the Team of the Year. His success continued in the Championship, once again finishing as Wolves' top scorer with 16 goals and named in the division's seasonal line-up before his contract expired.

Having represented both Mali and France at youth level, he opted to play for the former at full level and has 14 caps for the side also known as the Eagles, scoring six goals, and represented them in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.[/article]

[article=http://www.werder.de/en/profis/55892.php]Striker Aron Johannsson has made the move to SV Werder from Dutch first-division side AZ Alkmaar. The 24-year-old American, who has Icelandic roots, has signed a four-year contract with the Green-Whites until summer 2019, as announced by Werder chief executive Thomas Eichin. The striker was unveiled on Wednesday afternoon after passing his medical with the Bundesliga side.

"Aron was our top choice for the vacant striker's position. Therefore we're really happy that he's chosen to sign for us. He'll fit in incredibly well with the team, both on and off the field," said Eichin. Sporting director Rouven Schröder also added his opinion. "Despite his size, Aron is a very mobile striker who scored goals at an excellent rate for Alkmaar. At 24 years of age he's already got some valuable international experience, having represented the USA at national level as well as playing in the Europa League. He's also got a lot of potential to improve further and to continue his positive career trajectory with us here at Werder," said Schröder.

Johannsson was also delighted at signing a contract with Werder. "It's the right step for me to continue my development. Werder Bremen is a big club, and I'll give everything I have to develop further as a player and to contribute to the team's success."

[article=http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/andrew-taylor-season-loan-wigan-athletic-2596351.aspx#6J52d8dMwougLSbz.99]Reading Football Club are delighted to announce that left-back Andrew Taylor has completed a season-long loan deal from Wigan Athletic, arriving at Madejski Stadium three days before the start of our 2015-16 campaign.

Royals boss Steve Clarke said, "I'm delighted that we were able to get Andrew Taylor to join our squad for this season. He brings good experience and different attributes to our left back position.

"This was an area in the squad where we needed to make an addition and I feel we have made a good signing in Andrew. I look forward to Andrew and Jordan competing to make this another strong position in our team."

Taylor, who turned 29 last weekend, started 27 times for the Latics last season after moving to the DW Stadium in June 2014.

He had spent the previous three seasons with Cardiff City, helping the Welsh outfit reach the Carling Cup Final in 2012 and featuring in a game which the Bluebirds only narrowly lost on penalties against Liverpool.

He went on to win the Championship title and promotion the following season and was a Premier League regular for Cardiff in their one season in the top flight.

The versatile and vastly experienced full-back, who hails from Hartlepool, originally graduated through the Academy ranks at Middlesbrough alongside the likes of David Wheater and Adam Johnson, with whom he won the FA Youth Cup in 2004.

A regular England youth international at every age level, Taylor went on to spend a total of seven years as a professional at the Riverside, making his Premier League bow against Arsenal in January 2006 and going on to tot up nearly 100 Premier League appearances for the Teessiders.

Now a Royal until the end of the 2015-16 campaign, Taylor will be eligible to pull on a Royals shirt for the first time when we visit Birmingham City on Saturday for this year’s Championship curtain-raiser at St Andrew’s.

Chief Executive Nigel Howe added, “This was a great opportunity to add some considerable experience to the defensive options we already have within our squad and I’m delighted Andrew has chosen to be part of what we are trying to build here at Reading this season.”

As always, the completion of the loan deal remains subject to normal ratification by the relevant football authorities. [/article]

The 22-year-old has penned a three-year deal contract, having successfully passed a medical at the club’s training ground today.

Manager Steve Cotterill said: “I’m delighted Ryan has decided to join us. There was certainly a fair bit of competition for his signature from a number of other Championship clubs.

“He’ll provide us with lots of pace in an area where we needed more competition; that wing-back role is a hard shift game after game over the course of the season.

“He’s had a good grounding at Tottenham and enjoyed a good spell on loan at Middlesbrough last season. I’m sure he will fit in with our existing group of players.”

Fredericks came through the ranks at White Hart Lane and ended up making four appearances for the first team, all in Europa League action.

A two-month loan spell at Brentford in 2012 gave the youngster his first taste of league football and two years later he experienced the Championship for the first time with Millwall.

Last season Fredericks spent the entire campaign at Middlesbrough, gaining valuable game time during the Riverside club’s promotion challenge. [/article]
