A regular feature in the NextGen Series and under-21 sides this term, for whom he remains eligible until the end of the season, Martin made his first-team debut in the 6-1 Capital One Cup victory over Coventry City in September, putting in an assured display at right back.

Huddersfield Town has today completed the signing of teenage striker Daniel Carr from Dulwich Hamlet for a small undisclosed fee.

The 18 year-old has netted 24 goals for the Isthmian League Division One South side this season.

Carr was on trial with Liverpool before joining up with Town’s First Team squad for a three day training spell at the National Football Centre, St. George’s Park, ahead of the npower Championship game against Hull City.

He will complete the season at Dulwich Hamlet and has put pen to paper on a two year contract with the Terriers, with the Club having an option on a further year.

5’ 11” Carr will work with Senior Professional Development Coach Steve Eyre in the Development Squad.

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins believes Carr has real potential:

“The Club has done really well to get to the front of the queue for Daniel given the level of interest in him, as well as the calibre of interested parties; we have been very proactive in making this deal happen.

“I would also like to thank Dulwich Hamlet and their Manager Gavin Rose for the way they have dealt with this deal.

“Daniel is a goalscorer and has terrific feet; I can see him playing up front and out wide. His task now is to continue his progression and development as a player for the rest of the season and once he joins us in the summer.

“His addition to the squad is in line with the Club’s policy of signing players with potential.”

Daniel was previously at the Reading Academy from 16 to 18 years old during the professional development phase and joined Dulwich Hamlet in September following his release from the Madejski Stadium.

He has also trained with the Trinidad and Tobago Under-20 squad.

Cruzeiro reaches deal to sign Brazil defender Dede

SAO PAULO (AP) - Cruzeiro says it has reached a deal to sign Brazil defender Dede from fellow Brazilian club Vasco da Gama.

Dede had been linked to a move to Europe with many top clubs reportedly interested in the 24-year-old player, including Chelsea and Inter Milan. Club world champion Corinthians also was trying to sign Dede after Vasco announced it wanted to sell the defender to improve its finances.

Cruzeiro, a two-time national champion, declined to say how much it paid to Vasco. The length of the contract also was not immediately available on Wednesday.

Dede has been regularly called up to the Brazilian national team recently and was included in Luiz Felipe Scolari's squad that will play a home friendly against Chile on April 24 in Belo Horizonte.

Eli Babalj - AZ Alkmaar

MELBOURNE Heart striker Eli Babalj has signed a four-year deal with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, the A-League club announced on Saturday.

Babalj had travelled to the Netherlands to undergo a medical after AZ Alkmaar scouts visited Melbourne earlier this season to see him play for the Heart.

"Eli has attracted attention from Europe which is testament to his calibre and character and we wish him all the best at AZ,'' Heart chief executive Scott Munn said in a statement.

The 21-year old Babalj played nine games for the Heart this season and scored one goal.

Over the previous two A-League seasons he appeared for the Heart 35 times and scored 11 goals.

Babalj played with Serbian Superliga side Red Star Belgrade for the 2012/13 season where he represented the side in the UEFA Europa League.

Eli Babalj is a good striker.

Just needs to get his fitness right, which I'm sure he will, and he will be a very shrewd piece of business by AZ.

Great to see some Aussies in Holland.

Zullo, Oar, Sarota, Babalj, Davidson...

Mario Götze - Bayern Munich (£32m)

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Götze has agreed to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich next season.

The attacking midfielder's release clause in his contract has been activated, according to his agent Volker Struth and his club, and will move to the German champions on 1 July.

"We are obviously disappointed beyond measure, but emphasise that both Mario and his advisers have behaved absolutely conformity with the contract," said Hans-Joachim Watzke, Borussia Dortmund's CEO.

The German newspaper Bild had earlier reported that a deal worth €37m (£32m) with the Germany international until 2016 had been signed.

The versatile 20-year-old Götze, who won league titles in 2011 and 2012, is among the most talented young players in Germany and had been the target of several top European clubs. Bayern, who have already won the Bundesliga title, have already agreed a deal with the former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola to lead their team next season.

The Bavarians take on Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night and have reached the German Cup final as well.

Wow. Did not expect that at all.

What do Bayern need with all these attacking midfielders!

They'll let go of Robben and/or Ribery imo ... Goetze is a great pick up, and that they got to him before City/Chelsea could match the exit clause is typical Bayern nowadays (did it last year with Martinez). They're a great team and only getting better (while weakening their only real rival in Germany currently).

They've apperantly got Lewandowski aswell. Saw some stories today about Gomez going to Chelsea.

Their transfer strategy is indeed smart and impressive.

"Going forward, it is possible that they will move even closer to Barcelona's three-tier strategy - a strong reliance on their youth system, coupled with the best of the rest of the league and the odd genuine superstar."

It'll be a shame to see this Dortmund side broken up and the Bundesliga needs a rival to Bayern.

Inter Milan announce swoop for quintet
April 25, 2013

By ESPN staff

Inter Milan director Marco Fassone has confirmed that the club have already signed five players for next season, with Diego Laxalt, Hugo Campagnaro, Marco Andreolli, Ruben Botta and Mauro Icardi all set to arrive at the San Siro this summer.

Icardi, 20, joins the Nerazzurri from Sampdoria, where the former Barcelona youth-team forward has scored nine goals in his debut season.

Fellow Argentine Botta is currently plying his trade for Tigre but is relishing the opportunity to move to Serie A, telling Corriere dello Sport earlier this month: "I am very happy to have the chance to play in one of the most important teams in the world.

"It is an honour for me to have the chance to wear the Inter shirt and play alongside players like Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso, Diego Milito and others."

Completing a trio of Argentine arrivals, the free-transfer signing of Napoli defender Campagnaro will reinforce Inter’s backline, while Chievo centre-back Andreolli - a player who originally left Inter for Roma in 2007 as part of the deal that brought Christian Chivu to the club - will also add some defensive steel.

Finally, Uruguay Under-20 winger Laxalt will move after catching the eye for hometown club Defensor and for his country at the South American Under-20 Championship earlier this year.

Fassone announced the captures, most of which had been mooted for some time, saying: “Our finances don’t allow us to spend crazy money right now. But we have concluded five interesting signings for next season - Laxalt, Campagnaro, Andreolli, Botta and Icardi.”

Inter are expected to sell some players ahead of the new season, but Fassone insisted that goalkeeper Samir Handanovic would not be one of them, in the wake of speculation that Barcelona want him as a replacement for Victor Valdes.

“I wouldn’t rob the squad of a champion like Handanovic, but the president will decide,” Fassone said. “Anyhow, there is no official offer.”

Daniel Caligiuri - Wolfsburg (€2m)

VfL Wolfsburg have agreed terms with Bundesliga rivals SC Freiburg over the transfer of attacking midfielder Daniel Caligiuri ahead of next season. The 25-year-old has agreed on a four-year contract with the Wolves and will leave Freiburg after four years in the Black Forest.

"We're delighted to have been able to get Daniel Caligiuri on board at VfL," said Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs. "He has been one of Freiburg's key players, not only this season, and will certainly strengthen us in the coming season."

"Daniel makes us even more variable since he can play on either side of the field out wide. He's the ideal fit for our team," added coach Dieter Hecking, who is looking forward to working with the Villingen-Schweningen-born midfielder.

Caligiuri believes he will fit in "perfectly" in his new surroundings, but has stressed that his commitment to Freiburg for the remaining four games of the season will not waver. "There are several players here who harmonise well with my style of play," he said. "I'm looking forward to this new challenge from the summer, but now my full concentration is on the last four games with SC."

Jan Kirchhoff - Bayern Munich (free transfer)

http://www.fcbayern.telekom.de/en/news/news/2013/39301.php

Announced earlier in January 2013.

On Thursday, defender Jan Kirchhoff finalised his summer switch to Bayern from FSV Mainz by passing the obligatory medical in Munich and putting his name to a three-year contract, binding him to FCB until 30 June 2016. The Germany U-21 international moves on a free transfer.

“I’m delighted I’ve put my signature to the contract and am now 100 percent sure to be part of FC Bayern from next summer,” the centre-back told FCB.tv after inking the deal at a central Munich location. The Frankfurt-born player described the move as “a huge challenge, but if you don’t take it on, you’ll never get better.”

Bayern board director for sport Matthias Sammer, who has been aware of Kirchhoff’s ability “for several years” from his time as German FA (DFB) sporting director, spoke from the club’s Qatar training camp about the 1.95 m (6 ft 5 in) defender, describing him as “a rough diamond” with “good prospects” and “very good qualities.”

Kirchhoff himself is setting his sights high for the period after 1 July when he officially joins the nation’s biggest club. “With this club, it’s basically logical that you want to win trophies and achieve the greatest possible success. That means winning the Bundesliga, winning the DFB Cup, and also doing well in Europe. I’ll give it everything I have, like all the other players.”
