Olympiacos FC announces purchase of football player Vladimir Weiss for a period of 3 years.

Once agreement was reached, Weiss said Olympiacos TV the following:

“I am really happy to finally be here! Following conclusion of discussions we had with Olympiacos, I signed my contract.

I know Olympiacos; it is a great club, they have big ambitions and I hope I can help the side and the manager to fulfill them”.

Marko Marin - Sevilla (loan)

Chelsea Football Club and Sevilla Fútbol Club have reached an agreement for the season-long loan of Marko Marin, subject to the completion of legal documentation and a medical.

The German international arrived at Chelsea last summer from Werder Bremen, but after some impressive displays on tour in Americ, in which he grabbed his first Chelsea goal on his debut against Seattle Sounders, a hamstring injury meant he had to wait until late September for a competitive bow.

His first league start came in January in the 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers, with a first competitive goal following in February's 4-1 win over Wigan Athletic at Stamford Bridge. In total during 2012/13, Marin, who is 24, appeared 16 times.

Sevilla finished ninth in last season's La Liga table.

Steve Morison - Millwall (loan)

Millwall are delighted to confirm the return of former Den favourite Steve Morison on a season-long loan deal from Leeds United.

Striker Steve is no stranger to Lions fans having originally joined the club from Stevenage in the summer of 2009.

He scored 40 goals in just 95 appearances for The Lions between 2009 and 2011, playing an imperative part in the 2009/10 season as the club were promoted to the Championship following the 1-0 Play-Off Final victory over Swindon.

Steve moved to Premier League club Norwich City in 2011 before joining Leeds in January as part of a swap deal for Luciano Becchio. The 29-year-old scored three times in 16 games for the Elland Road outfit.

"I'm pleased to be back here," Steve told Lions Player. "If anybody has any doubts about me all I'd say is that I aim to score plenty of goals for Millwall and help this club to greater success.

"I've been looking after myself in the summer; I'm fit and raring to go."

The hitman becomes manager Steve Lomas' second signing since taking charge of the club and will join up with his new team-mates on Monday as the squad head to Warwick University for a pre-season training camp.

Good business by Sevilla and a great opportunity for the player. Markin has the potential to go some way to filling the void left by Navas and they can probably afford to give him the role he needs in order to develop.

Unfortunately this can only help Chelsea in the long term.

Sevilla were previously linked with a loan move for Gerard Deulofeu. Looks like he'll be headed elsewhere.

Stephen Crainey - Wigan (free transfer)

Owen Coyle has made his second signing as Wigan Athletic Manager, securing the services of Scotland full-back Stephen Crainey on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old follows in the footsteps of Chris McCann in arriving at the DW Stadium in time for pre-season training next week, as the Gaffer continues to waste no time in bolstering his squad for the coming season.

After undergoing a medical today and putting pen-to-paper on a one-year contract, Crainey said:

“It’s a big challenge for me personally, but after six good years at Blackpool I felt it was time for a new challenge at this stage of my career, and I’m delighted for that be at Wigan Athletic.

“The Championship is a grueling division, with tough games every week, but that and the chance to play European football, is a challenge I’m really looking forward to.

“I’ve played against Wigan Athletic on a few occasions so I know how much the fans back their team and I’m sure they’ll do the same this season which is what we need to produce the performances on the pitch.”

Crainey becomes a Latics player after spending six-years at Bloomfield Road and make over 200 appearances, helping the Tangerines win promotion to the Premier League in 2010, and narrowly missing out on repeating the feat in 2012, losing in the playoff Final against West Ham United.

Glasgow-born Crainey began his career at Celtic in 1997, graduating through the youth academy and going on to make 41 league appearances before joining Southampton in 2004, having helped the Bhoys to an SPL title (2001/02), a Scottish League Cup title (2001) and a runner-up place in the 2002/03 UEFA Cup.

His time at the Saints was brief, making five appearances before joining Leeds United in 2004 and over the following three years helping the Whites go close to Premier League promotion, losing the 2006 playoff Final against Watford.

In 2007 he was signed by Blackpool, spending six seasons at Bloomfield Road, making 214 league appearances and scoring four goals, appearing 46 times in all competitions last term.

Erik Pieters - Stoke City (€3.6 million)

STOKE CITY have today secured their first major signing for the 2013-14 season by capturing Dutch international defender Erik Pieters.

The 24-year-old left back has put pen-to-paper on a four year contract to seal his move from PSV Eindhoven for 3.6 million euros.

Pieters, who has won 17 international caps for Holland, completed the transfer to the Britannia Stadium after travelling to the Potteries for talks and a medical, thus strengthening new manager Mark Hughes’ defensive resources.

City’s Chief Executive Tony Scholes commented: “Erik has a considerable amount of experience of playing at the highest level, both on the international stage with Holland and in the Champions League with PSV Eindhoven.

“He is a player who was identified by our Technical Director Mark Cartwright as one who could strengthen our defensive options and we have been tracking his progress, so we are delighted to have brought him here now.”

Hughes stressed: “I am delighted to have secured Erik's signature. The main focus this summer in attempting to strengthen the squad is ensuring it is balanced in key positions.

While Erik is predominantly a left back, he has also played for his country as a central defender, so he gives us other options.

“We need good quality in our starting eleven and good quality back-up for all areas, which Erik will certainly give us defensively.”

Pieters began his career with FC Utrecht; his emergence in the 2007-08 season leading to a move to PSV in a 2.5 million euro transfer.

When he continued that progress at PSV, it led to him making his international debut following the retirement of Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

In his five years at the Philips Stadium, Pieters has been a prominent figure in a side that has won domestic honours and competed in Europe.

PSV mass exodus?

Bayer Leverkusen - Emir Spahic (undisclosed fee, reportedly €3 million)

Bayer 04 have signed Emir Spahic, the captain of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The 32-year-old central defender joins the Werkself from Spanish top-flight side Sevilla FC after a spell on loan at Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala. Emir penned a two-year contract with Bayer 04 to 30 June 2015. The two clubs agreed not to disclose details of the deal. Spahic will join the first team squad in Leverkusen on 4 July.

“We have signed a central defender with a lot of international experience in Emir Spahic. We’ve known the player for a number of years. We weren’t able to complete the transfer earlier but the chance has now come up for Bayer 04. He’s an ideal signing for us and we’re certainly getting value for money. We’re convinced we’ve got very good options in central defence with Philipp Wollscheid, Ömer Toprak and Emir Spahic on the books,” said Bayer 04 managing director Wolfgang Holzhäuser.

Bayer 04 sporting director Rudi Völler is impressed by the quality of the right-footed defender: “Emir Spahic is skillful and strong in challenges. He also has outstanding technical ability and is very good in the air. He’ll help us to achieve our targets in the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup and, of course, the UEFA Champions League.”

Having signed a RB and CB, does this mean Leverkusen has dropped out of the race to sign Toby Alderweireld?

Gelson Fernandes - Freiburg (£250k)

130626SCFORT52.JPG

Switzerland international midfielder Gelson Fernandes has completed his transfer to Freiburg from Sporting Lisbon.

The former Manchester City and Leicester man spent the latter part of his year with the Portuguese club on loan to FC Sion in Switzerland, before moving to the Bundesliga outfit for a fee of £250,000.

Fernandes, 26, was one of a host of players signed by Sven-Goran Eriksson at the start of his City tenure in 2007, but was sold by Mark Hughes to St Etienne after making 50 appearances two years later.

Loan spells with Chievo and Leicester followed before a permanent move to Udinese that ended less than a year later with his transfer to Sporting.

Freiburg finished fifth in last season's Bundesliga, qualifying for the Europa League, and manager Christian Streich is looking to further strengthen his squad.

"Gelson is a vastly experienced player, he works hard for his team. We are happy to have him and are out to sign two or three more players this summer."

The German club's director Klemens Hartenbach added, "Due to several circumstances he did not have the best of times at some of his most recent clubs. We are convinced he will fit right into our setup as a strong team-play character."

Sanchez Watt - Colchester United (free transfer)

4x3-sanchezsigns187-884888_478x359.jpg

Colchester United are delighted to confirm that Sanchez Watt has signed for the club on a permanent basis, signing a two year contract on Friday.

Sanchez enjoyed a hugely successful loan spell with the U's last season, before injury cut short his time at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Having been released by Arsenal at the end of last season, Sanchez's signature was coveted by a number of clubs around the country, but Joe Dunne's persistence has paid off and he got his man ahead of the players returning to full pre-season training on Monday.

Sanchez joins Craig Eastmond and Jabo Ibehre in penning two year deals with the club as things shape up nicely for the new season.

Gary Lavery - Cardiff City

Northern Ireland Under-17 striker Gary Lavery has signed for Cardiff City.

The 16-year-old has left Glenavon and will join up with the Bluebirds academy on a two year deal.

He made one senior appearance in the Irish League last year and will now play alongside the likes of Rhys Healey and Kadeem Harris as he bids to make his name in South Wales.

Elliott Ward - Bournemouth (free transfer)

ward-4-334-871805_478x359.jpg

Defender Elliott Ward has become Eddie Howe’s first summer signing after agreeing a one-year deal at the Goldsands Stadium.

Ward arrives with plenty of Championship experience having helped both Norwich City and West Ham United achieve promotion to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old also played for Preston North End, Plymouth and, most recently, Nottingham Forest in the second tier.

Howe was pleased to add a player with Premier League and Championship experience to his squad ahead of the start of pre-season training.

“We believe in Elliott as a player and a person. He ticks all the boxes for us, he is a really good athlete, he’s excellent in both boxes and he’s a real physical presence.

“Not only that but he is also technically an excellent footballer, which fits in with our philosophy and how we want to play out from the back and how we want our defence to be able to handle the ball.

He is a leader as well, he’s experienced and he knows the division, so for all those aspects I think he’s a really important signing for us.”

Ian Harte - Bournemouth (free transfer)

harte-4-334-883581_478x359.jpg

The Cherries have completed the signing of experienced Republic of Ireland full-back Ian Harte on a free transfer.

The former Leeds United and Sunderland defender has signed a one-year deal at the Goldsands Stadium after training with Eddie Howe’s squad for the first time this morning.

Harte has made more than 200 appearances in the Premier League and featured 18 times for Reading last season against the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham.

The 35-year-old is renowned as a set piece specialist and has represented his country 63 times during his career.

Harte becomes the club’s second summer signing following the arrival of defender Elliott Ward last week.

Manager Eddie Howe believes experienced left back Ian Harte will prove to be an important addition to the Cherries squad.

“I’m delighted to get someone of Ian’s experience and technical quality in and we are looking forward to working with him,” he told Hot Radio.

“He’s impressed me ever since he was playing for Leeds. He’s an excellent crosser and passer of the ball, his set piece delivery is an added bonus but he’s got a lot of the qualities that we look for in a player.

“He’s a player with a Premier League experience and will help the squad improve, and I think it’s important that we filled the position with someone who knew the game.”

Howe also feels that Harte, who played for Republic of Ireland at the 2002 World Cup, has a lot to offer the club both on and off the field.

“I see him pushing people for places. He’s a versatile player and he can play at left side centre half in a back three, so he’s certainly not a one dimensional player,” he said.

“He’s going to increase competition for places and that’s important because we know that we are going to need a good squad, not just a good first XI.

“From my meetings and talks with him, he’s certainly impressed me as a person. He’s got some really good values and he’s a team player, so for all those reasons he was very attractive to us.”

Erik Pieters - Stoke City (€3.6 million)

I don't now anything about this lad , i've never even heard of him but a 24 yr old dutch international with 17 caps seems like a good pick up for stoke .

I don't now anything about this lad , i've never even heard of him but a 24 yr old dutch international with 17 caps seems like a good pick up for stoke .

He was linked quite strongly with Newcastle before. He had a nightmare season with injuries last season though. News from 20th Jan 2013:

In his first match after nine months off with a foot injury, PSV's Erik Pieters was sent off in the 67th minute of his side's 3-1 loss to PEC Zwolle on Friday. Pieters was understandably frustrated by this, but unleashed his frustration with a kick to the side of the tunnel as he made his way to the dressing room and topped it off by stupidly punching through a window.

The punch left a large hole and blood stain on the glass as Pieters sliced open his arm. The new injury required surgery and the club will determine "in the coming weeks" how long it will take him to come back. Again.

Swansea City received a major boost today with the news that midfielder Jonathan de Guzman will be back at the Liberty Stadium next season.

The 25-year-old hinted last week that he would not rule out a potential return to the Swans.

“I had a great year at Swansea,’’ he said. “The people around the club and the fans treated me well.

“It was not just the results we had; it was more about showing we can also compete with the big teams. We played better against the bigger teams.

“We played well in a lot of games. We played good football and it’s refreshing playing in a team that has a good football mind.

“I’m very satisfied with what happened. We did very well – we were very creative.

“We really put Swansea on the map.”

good pick up for Tottenham if true. That halilovic kid will be a superstar.

Also Porto set to pay £8.5mil for Quintero of Pescara. He is 20 and Colombian. He was a star in serie a this season, we should've been all over him for that price. They will sell him in a few years for about £30mil
