I remember advocating the signing of Milito when he went to Genoa, and some on here said he wouldn't be a hit in the EPL. I'd like to see him try though....

45 goals in his last 2 seasons..
He's a good footballer. Very intelligent, hardworking, clincal forward.

But he's slow. I don't think he'd be a big hit in the Premiership, but he'd still get goals.

Are you watching the game? There is more than enough pace in Milito.

Ok, he's not slow. Exaggeration.

I just don't think he's explosive enough to be a *big* hit in England.

Julio Cesar has developed into one of the better goalkeepers, he's up there with the best of them.

Inter fully deserve their lead. Perhaps this could finally be their year.
About time they won it without cheating 😉

Ha. Bastards.

barca are in serious trouble now as inter will soak up pressure and hit them on the break and if inter score its game over

3-1 to Inter.
Why can i never do this for Premier League matches?

Balotelli has a shite attitude. Inter would do well to get rid.
I'd take him in a second ...

The game itself:

Barca played a very poor game - I'm not taking anything away from Inter, who stuck to Mourinho's game plan (the one mention by Keni, harass Xavi - take away their space etc) the whole night.

Maicon should be Brazil's starting RB. He's impressive. If he doesn't play next week, big advantage to Barca - what a 'key play' by Messi that may be.

Barca should have had at least one penalty I thought.

Julio Cesar - two great saves (the one on Busquets header was fantastic) and I just don't get where this keeper came from. 3-4 years of being great for Inter after being 'where'?

3-1 to Inter.

wow

Ibrahimovic said that he saw what happened after Balotelli had thrown off his jersey in anger and given a middle finger salute to the Inter fans after the final whistle.

"I saw that Materazzi was attacking him in the players' tunnel and I've never seen anything like it," Ibrahimovic told RAI. "If I were him, I'd have left Mario alone, but Materazzi was attacking him and I was stunned. If Materazzi had attacked me like that, I would've decked him in a second!

"Materazzi was causing all sorts of trouble and in the Barcelona locker room we were amazed, all talking about it. A player should be proud after a win, not chase down a 20-year-old to berate him."

Inter players and officials have rounded on Balotelli, who seemed to be angered by a less than warm welcome from the Inter fans when he was substituted on late in the match. Serie A bad boy Balotelli, who has never been a crowd favourite at Inter, volleyed wide in the dying minutes and received another round of jeers. The crowd treatment was no excuse for his behaviour, according to team-mates.

Captain Javier Zanetti said: ''(I am) disappointed that a celebration was ruined with something like this. If the fans whistle at him he's got to understand that it could depend on a lot of different things. We've always stood by him.''

The Daily Telegraph quoted Stankovic as saying: "He's like a child. I'm a father of three kids and we can't take him by the collar, too. He's suffered, but I've suffered too with the fans. He's reacted poorly, but he's still got time.''

Manager Jose Mourinho also had words for substitute Balotelli after the whistle.

"I have been at Inter since July 2008," he said. "If I try to remember all the times I've tried to educate a great talent, there are thousands and thousands. This is a Champions League semi-final, the second most important tie in club football, and something ugly happened."

Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo says the club will definitely be taking action against the player over the gesture.

"Balotelli's gesture was terrible. Just terrible," he said. "It is something we are going to have to discuss. Will he be punished? Absolutely, yes."

I just hope Fergie doesn't get hold of this lad ...

guilty as charged. *shame-faced*
But more than that, I just can't stand the Special Ones' love-me speeches and media wankfest after this.

No way, oi veh. 😉 Bags of talent but - albeit for understandable reasons - far too much growing-up left to do. If we already had a strong, successful squad I might be tempted, but I simply don't think we can afford the risk in our current situation.

i'd expect Man City to be in for Balotelli.

They have no concerns when it comes to signing wankers.

But... the kid is very young and clearly a big talent. Its a shame that the fans hate him and he doesnt seem to be anywhere near mature enough to handle such sudden fame.

City definitely looks like a likely destination, particularly if Mancini is in charge who seems to like the guy a lot. And it'll be a good deal for Inter probably as they'll pay some absurd fee that doesn't quite reflect the value he currently brings to the squad.

I only liked them when they thrashed Arsenal.
Bayern all the way for me, they should win it. *crosses fingers*

I think it'll be a Lyon-Inter final, which Inter will win 1-0.
