City of Manchester's quest for European glory

just flicking through the blue moon post match thread and it seems unanimous that their manager is to blame for not playing a defensive midfielder

i don’t follow City particularly closely but i had to check their lineups in the previous 2 defeats to Chelsea in the last month.... they played Rodri in one and Rodri + Fernandinho in the other

on the surface it seems like another Guardiola tinkerman/overthinking incident but it seems like he’s just struggling against how Tuchel sets them up in general

He has been overthinking it surely.
The team is unbalanced without someone like Rodri or Fernandinho. They protect the defense, and they allow a plattform for KDB and Gundogan to express themselves.
Also makes the others unsure about their tasks.
Silva and one out of Sterling/Foden should not have started. And he should probably also have played a striker, even if all he has his Jesus.

Foden- Jesus- Mahrez
----------KDB
------Gundo - Rodri

Giz a job

I reckon it may be a bit of both. It's true that he's been caught overtinkering before, but their recent record against the Chavs might have prompted that anyway.

yea and if they hadn’t been beaten by Chelsea twice recently tinkerman mode might’ve kicked in anyway

Interesting though that no city fans seem to be discussing how their silver bullet has already failed twice recently. They’re really annoyed, i think they thought they were going to walk the final.

He knew Kante and mount would start, so then it was a tossup between pulisic, havertz or ziyech behind a striker.

Playing without a DM against that possibility is just fucking suicide, and the know-it-all cunt got showed up once again

Not sure who you are looking at, I was making fun of the dude in with the extraordinarily long face.

But thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow.

Lol what a load of rubbish. You could argue the charity shield that’s it.
Yeah because the Mickey Mouse cup isn't full of youth players and squad teams until the semis. A non-entity of a cup universally despised (except by Guardiola it seems and then only because their squad is massive) and that almost everyone wants scrapped. So actually spot on.

Isn't this African age joke kinda stale?

Kante plays like a 27 year old. There shouldn't be questions about his age.
Now Naby, on the other hand...
He's not African but sometimes I wonder how old Sturridge is? I don't think Sturridge was able to find a club last season.

Let's be fair, we would have fucking killed for someone as clinical as Sturridge last season.

Not sure that Sturridge would fit in Klopp's system, but I would have loved to have the 2012-15 version of Sturridge anyway.
