i don’t follow City particularly closely but i had to check their lineups in the previous 2 defeats to Chelsea in the last month.... they played Rodri in one and Rodri + Fernandinho in the other
on the surface it seems like another Guardiola tinkerman/overthinking incident but it seems like he’s just struggling against how Tuchel sets them up in general

I reckon it may be a bit of both. It's true that he's been caught overtinkering before, but their recent record against the Chavs might have prompted that anyway.
He’s got form for tinkering in the CL and it backfiring so I get why they’re all mad.
Also last night it was obvious they were missing a DM and the players were all unsure of themselves.
In fairness they got beat playing 1 then 2 dm’s in their last two games against Chelsea so it’s somewhat understandable
I can kinda see his thinking but this City team don’t ever seem to have responded to new systems sprung upon them in big games so it was a horrible decision.
