Season getting better all the time. Nuke the Ataturk, Saturday evening, and it will be perfect.

400k a week keeper can’t save any of the 11 pens and misses his.
Hope united stick with Ole and both of the current keepers.

good ebening.

fun fact:
the only time emery lost a europa cup final was with arsenal in 2019

Seeing lots of criticism of Solskjaer (serial laser, needs to go, etc) and, sure, they were favored and, sure, they have spent a lot of money - but he is leading them on a slow progression up that is undeniably better than what anyone expected when he was appointed or for the following year. Second place and a European final when you've got Fred and McTominay in your midfield is a good season.

Ole at the wheel, indeed.

If they'd won, this season would be viewed completely differently.

Hahaha, well, yes.

I don't know. Im not sure sokskjaer is leading them anywhere. I think this was an odd year and united had some of the most consistent squad to draw from. I think the team and its considerable advantages are leading him around, and he's fairly unwilling or unable to make any real decisions of significance or push any bold sort of style.

Look at their fucking side on paper. Aside from the forward line and "names" (Pogba, I'm looking at you) it's not a good team. They're just lucky we're seeing a transitional shift in footy where most teams are a shadow of their former selves, we had a cataclysmic series of injuries, and they get pens every game.

This season, especially had they won last night, has papered over a lot of cracks. They're not good. But then again, they're better than the majority of sides because everyone else has dropped off massively. If they don't go through some major progression in the summer, I can see them sliding a little down the table again. Maybe not actually if VAR keeps bailing them out.

Henderson/De Gea
Wan Bissaka
Lindelof
Bailly/Maguire
Shaw/Telles

Fred
McTominay
Pogba

It's fucking horrendous.

Take out Fernandes' pens and his 5 yard assists to someone who smacks in a 30 yard screamer and his stats start to look padded, too. Though he is good.

But it's a FAR cry from what would've been considered a title-challenging squad over the last 20 years.
