Cissokho was a left winger who was played at LB for a season. Popular thought was that he was brought in specifically as a wing back rather than as a full back.

If we go to three CB + two wing backs Cissokho will start.

Problem with that is that he was a shocking wing back when played there. Play Agger at LB imo.

And for the record he "monstered" Drogba when we beat Chelsea at home in the ChL Semi-Final in 2007. Whilst also scoring our goal.

You aren't wrong. Agger played very well that night but it was his intelligent positioning which did the trick, cutting off the supply to Drogba and leaving him isolated. I don't think he's weak as such, but Drogba would have had him for breakfast in a straightforward trial of strength.

I'm not here to make a case for poor ole Ally or anything but I expected better from him. Is he as bad as we are making out? I liked him at Porto and Lyon. He looks a strong lad, decent on the ball and is pacy. So, what it is? Poor fitness levels, can't handle the league yet (at all) or just not good enough. He seemed okay on his debut, a cameo at LW. He looked a strong runner and an able player but then the Arsenal game happened. Wing back is meant to be his preferred position but he was very poor. I can't stand a FB that have a habit of committing himself early or one that allows the attacker get his cross in time and time again.

Is the general consensus that he is shit or has he a chance to turn it around?

We need someone to nullify Baines and restrict him to his own half for long periods of the game.
