Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

The good news of our lord is being delivered to the savages, for they may be saved and join their civilized superiors in the light of our lord.

Yeah, it's obvious this is the case, but they're still using the data to peddle Covid deaths.

This Omicron sniffles... has anyone actually died from this that was healthy and didn't have any other comorbidities? It's funny (it's not really) how they're still pushing and demanding a vaccine for virus that poses virtually no threat to anyone. That proves it's not about health, and all about money/other agendas.

But is it because people were vaccinated that the death rate is low.

If I look at the Australia data - we’re getting more new cases in a day than we’ve done in the first 18 months of COVID.

Hospitalisation are up, ICU admissions are up, deaths aren’t - that’s as a flat number, not as a % of cases - as a % it would way down on previous at the same time as double vaccination rates amongst eligible people reaches upwards of 90%.

There will be a time lag, but the vaccine n the face of it, seems to be doing what it was supposed to do and keep people from the worst effects.

I don’t think you’re the target market for that info Dantes..,

But nobody was vaccinated at the start, so obviously unvaccinated deaths will be higher. Plus, the strains have appeared to become less fatal as time has gone on.

But in any case, I'm not saying vaccines don't work.

This isn't comparing vaccinated to unvaccinated, it's just saying that 78% of people who die from Covid while vaccinated, have 4 or more other issues. It's since been misquoted as something to suggest that Covid isn't a danger.

A combination of vaccine effectiveness, less deadly but more contagious strain, more testing, incidental cases for hospitalised patients with other ailments etc etc would be my guess

Sorry, that was in reference to the comment in the tweet that the majority of the 836,000 deaths were unvaccinated. I found myself arguing against that person instead of your original point

I’d agree with that and add in removal of most of the restrictions that were in place for previous outbreaks.

I also agree with previous points I think you made that lockdowns, etc have likely had a negative effect on general and mental health - but still, there are positives.

Overall, if the average of 4 comorbidities per death is actually solely for vaccinated people, I'd imagine amongst unvaccinated people it would be a bit lower, but multiple comorbidities would still be a huge determining factor.

You'd have to be extremely unlucky to be a young, fit healthy person and die from this. Especially Omicron.

However, that's not to say it's not serious, but rather lifestyle changes and better preventative treatment could be equally, if not more, effective at reducing the severity of cases.

I also have doubts about vaccine side effects, but that's a whole different discussion. Though I'm not against people having them or anything. I just reckon there's a good possibility side effects are being under reported.

Actually... I might have it and I’m as unhealthy as all fuck.

The sister-in-law popped round on Sunday to pick up some stuff and tested positive yesterday.

So if I stop posting suddenly... mourn me and Ross was right.

I also got my booster on Sunday... right on the 6 month mark.

I’m fat, with high blood pressure, unfit as fuck and nearing 50 with likely some sort of heart disease and a liver the size of Tasmania.

I’m probably fucked if I get it.

Yeah, you should be jabbing yourself every week

I actually have sympathy for enforcing lockdowns at the outset. I was in favour of them at the time, and I think it was the right thing to do during the outbreak of a novel virus, even if it didn't stop the spread.

Well... I got the booster on Sunday (hasn’t killed me yet and my balls haven’t gotten any bigger).

I’ll like be due round 4 for my birthday l... hurrah!

Surprised you can see your balls given your description of yourself earlier

The coffin dancers will ring in sick the day of your funeral

It kinda did stop the spread - but the key to it for Australia we’re the external borders.

That’s were the measures taken weren’t backed up properly - the first Vic lockdown was caused by a hotel breach, the NSW Delta by someone entering and not following protocol and the latest will have been due to relaxed entry requirements.

WA is still pretty much contained and up until recently the South Australia & QLD cases were very low.

But, yeah, as I've said probably a million times before, if you want the vaccine, go for it, I'm not gonna stop you. More power to you.

It's when authorities start using it to demonise, ostracise and vilify certain sections of the population, as well as enforcing dystopian measures for political and financial gain that gets my back up.

Well, yeah it's gonna slow the spread at least. Stop it for a while. But unless you're gonna lock Australia down entirely forever, it was always going to come in. If it wasn't already there by the implementation of the measures.

And again I don’t disagree with you and if you don’t want to get the vaccine - your choice - but there are people who likely would have benefited from getting it that swallowed the Kool Aid that some people were selling and aren’t about to regret that decision anymore.

Well, of course

I do think Fauci has indirectly, through various organisations and subgrants, funded gain of function research that has led to this pandemic.

I don't really know what's revelatory or new or different about what Ross posted there, though
