Yep. It's usually the way with Chelsea, these days. Everyone expects them to do well, they fall away drastically. Everyone writes them off, they win the title.
 
Don't Liverpool usually win the title when....ummm, shit, I can't remember what portends us winning the title any more. But we're fucking winning it this year. D.A. 2018/19 "This time it's Real!"

Way too early for this thread. Their situation is not ideal but they did win the league twice in the last four years.
 
I think its fair to speculate at this point, their success in the modern era is entirely due to the financial doping of Abromavich. If he starts taking backward steps then the decline is inevitable.
 
If they lose Courtois and Hazard, and (teeheehee) replace with Cech and someone of inferior quality to Hazard, then it will be fun times. I wonder would they like Markovic?
 
They're linked with a 100 mill move for Higuain and Rugani.
Sarri is a very good manager but if they lose Hazard and Courtois, then they wont make the top 4.

I thought they were quite well established in the top tier now in terms of revenue.

If Abramovic stopped pumping money in would they not just be at our level?

Maybe, maybe not.

I'd presume they get good revenue because they've been a top side for a while, which has basically been dependent on Abramovich's support.

If they consistently fall out of the CL and lose their stars it's surely possible that the lucrative deals will ebb away too. They don't have that huge support to act as a cushion, like us and Utd.
