what are you on about RedShrek? Sol Campbell as a 4th CB shows nothing, considering the Mancs want him for the SAME ROLE. Sheesh, get a grip. The club hasn't fallen anywhere because of two poor months of form. Moshe wept.

I am not talking about poor form, i am talking about the fans now having to talk about players that are at the bottom of bargain basement. I seen a thread yesterday talking about James Beattie. This isn't the fans fault its just a realisation that these are the only types of players we cam afford now and its very fucking sad.[/quote]

Oh come on ... So if I say, 'sign Hyypia' you'd say no? Sol Campbell is a good pick up for the Mancs b/c he can play at a high level ... and he'll be back on the bench when their primary CBs are healthy.

We need a STRONG squad. If Rafa doesn't trust our kiddies yet, then cheap veterans shouldn't be an issue. I'd take RvN, Campbell in a flash.

Threads like this just show how far this club has fallen, even during the days of of moores we weren't talking about free has beens. The sooner those twats leave the better. Moores is just as culpable. Cunts. What happend to snoop doggy dog is avaliable... do you reckon we will get him!

This thread was started in August and we only bought our experienced (read big old lump) 4th choice CB after Carra tried to snuff out his competition.

This is a Utd side that is winning with Carrick, Fletcher and Evra at the back whilst we're losing game after game with a first choice back four.

It's one thing to throw an out of sorts verteran into a side full of confidence that is winning games. It's quite another to do the same with a side teetering above rock bottom.

Didn't realise the thread was from Aug LTW I apoligise but anyway, the point i was getting at is the fact when the owners came in we where talking Eto, Villa, Silva etc. Now we are talking beattie, campbell pavulchenko or whateva he's called. Its just so fucking depressing. Untill we get rid of these clowns i don't think we will see another marque signing like torres again.

Ginsoak rules Campbell out:

Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out a January move for former England defender Sol Campbell - and insisted he has money to spend if he wanted to.

Speculation rose earlier this week that Ferguson would look to bring Campbell in when the transfer window opens next month as he battles with an ongoing defensive injury crisis. Even the mere suggestion of signing the 35-year-old triggered more negative rumours about the money Ferguson has been given to spend at a club whose debt is currently £790million.

But Ferguson insists there is no link, and said: "I don't know where this came from but it is all wrong. Sol Campbell was a great player but he is not a player we are thinking about getting to come to United."

A move for Campbell always seemed unlikely given the player's age, and the fact he has played only one League Two game since he left Portsmouth at the end of last season.

And, as Ferguson confirmed, many of the current problems - while leaving him short of options once more for Saturday's Old Trafford encounter with Aston Villa - are unlikely to be long-term.

"Jonny Evans could be back in 10 days and John O'Shea will be with us in January," he said. "We are having a hard time with centre-backs at this moment in time but I am sure by January most of them will be back."

The issue of United's debt and the world record £80million received from Real Madrid following the summer sale of Cristiano Ronaldo has been a subject of debate for some time.

Ferguson's preference to keep his spending down last summer only fuelled talk of a squeeze being applied by the Glazer family.

It is an issue the United manager is happy to address, and he said: "It has been said I do not have the money. But the money is there if I wanted to use it.

"I didn't see any value in the summer and I don't see any value at the moment either. I am happy with the players I already have at the club."
