Anyone watching the game between Huddersfield and Reading? Bright start and a good busy 10 to 15 minutes, with Huddersfield being the more enterprising team. They should've taken the lead but somehow Izzy Brown managed to shin the ball wide at the far post with an open goal. The game's gone a bit flat for the past 20 or so minutes, with some unsavoury fouls by a couple of Reading players.

Patrick Stewart's a big Huddersfield fan apparently. He's at the game, and he's as excited as a kid in this article:

Poor game. Both teams lacking quality. Lots of huff and puff but little skills.

Danny Ward is very involved. Had some good punches and looks a very decent keeper.

Hopefully he will win them the shootout.

Huddersfield have looked vulnerable to the Reading counter attacks a few times in the second half. They've got to be careful now as their legs tire while they continue to try to take the game to Reading, who are pretty content to sit back and hit on the break.

There's not much between both sides since the first 15 minutes or so. Not an entertaining game.

I'm only watching this because of Ward and supporting this Wagner fella who supposedly would be an ally next season.

Danny ward saves readings last penalty up step Huddersfield.. welcome to the premiership huddersfield town

I quite like the Schindler lad - the Huddersfield defender. Cool as a cucumber in the game, and calmly finished off Reading with the last kick. A German, of course.

Ward - hero for the Terriers again. Semi-finals and now this. Wow. His confidence must be sky high after this loan spell.

We should let Huddlesfield keep him on loan next year. He's at the perfect place to develop. Leave him to it.

Huddersfield v Liverpool last day of season we need a win to clinch the title Wagner v Klopp I'm sure Wagner would help his old pal.

Exactly. It will be a great chance to monitor his progress at the top level, and he's suddenly become our best chance in, well, decades of developing a home grown first choice keeper. He's certainly surprised me - he was an irritatingly cocky character when he was just coasting in the ressies, but there's no denying that he's really made the most of his loan spells and now looks a very promising keeper.

Delighted with that result.

Huddersfield has not been in the top flight for as long as I remember (ever maybe?) and they've got some really great prospects incl Ward of course.

The Wagner link is fun too.

Huh? I hope not. I've seen too many "shady" matches in Ukraine – believe me, even a suspicion of foul play spoils the whole competition and is just not worth it. However it does look like we can develop a mutually beneficial relationship with Huddersfield when it comes to loans –similar to how United benefitted from similar relationships with Sunderland and other teams.

Agreed.

Huddersfield could become our unofficial feeder club.

In addition to the Ward extension, which seems more likely than not now. Perhaps Wilson or Ejaria might be a good fit for a year development.

Wagner knows Klopp inside out as a manager, and will be as determined as anyone to frustrate and beat him next season, so I'd wake up if you think Huddersfield will be some kind of free six points for us. Anyway, thank god Reading didn't make it - a horrible boring club - and it'll be fun to have a couple of unfamiliar clubs in the league.

Agreed 100%. Its usually the new clubs that frustrate us and take at least a couple of points off us.

At least they won't be throwing the kitchen sink at us over a dead rubber game aka Pulis and everton.

I was surprised to see that thespian buffoon Patrick Stewart at the game. I thought he'd announced he was going to apply for American citizenship so that he could sort out US politics. Maybe he's multitasking.

First team to win the top Division 3 times in a row. Pre-war though, so it's not surprising you don't remember it
