Champions League, what would it take?

24 games in, 14 to play. 42 points on the line.

Chelsea are 4th, 9 points ahead of us with one game in hand. Can they drop 12 points in 15 games?

But more importantly how many points, do we have to get? 42?

I'll say this, 42 points, winning every remaining game this season, will get us to the CL.

The chance of that? If we win tomorrow and against Chelsea on Sunday. I think we can go all the way.

Why do I want Champions League next season? Because I really want the new Liverpool to take Europe and England by storm. Dalglish has really made me believe in the team.
 
As much as the idea of Manchester getting nuked sounds appealing; that wouldnt be a good day for keniget, 23carragold and John Bishop; not to mention Liverpool ;D

that, on the other hand, looks very possible, and would be quite fantastic. fact is, one of them, spurs and city will almost certainly miss out, and they're all as desperate as each other to make it.

tbh, the consolation prize of spurs missing out would be pretty sweet as well.

It would take a couple of teams to completely collapse in form. City, Chelsea, Spurs - not going to happen

9 Points and they have a game in hand, from 4th. If we win against Chelsea (and of course Stoke midweek) I think it's on, however we won't beat Chelsea. 6th however, I think it a possibility, assuming our play picks up like I feel it's about too.

If we beat chelsea and they lose twice to the scum then we will be within striking distance of them. The problem then is what SPurs do in those same games....

I doubt it to be honest but would ahppily settle for them not making champions league....

kenny is so special I wouldn't put it past him to have the game rearranged so it is played at anfield.

Agree, if Carroll was fit and not out for a few more weeks, we would have had a much better chance, but as it is the 12/1 odds the bookies are offering look tight arsed in the extreme
 
Top 6 at best. A new strike partnership with Carroll out for a few more weeks.

A long unbeaten run would help. Not impossible but improbable!
 
In previous seasons I'd have said there wasn't a hope. This season, though, everybody seems intent on letting everybody else hang in there with a chance. Still highly unlikely, but Istanbul was that and more. 8)
 
It's definitely possible, and there's a renewed optimism, in fact there's a real undercurrent of greatness waiting to spew forth.............ok, my guess is even with a very good run 5th is where we will finish.

It's likely the same for most clubs, but we are now going to be more reliant on our first teamers staying fit, as we still do no have a strong enough squad (comparatively, against the other contenders)
