Didn't this happen to Pep and Bayern last year? Doesnt look good on Pep's CV.
It annoys me watching how good Suarez is. No amount of money should have had us sell him. And even when we did consider it (because of his ban), it should have been on the proviso that Sanchez came to us.
How the fcuk did we end up with Markovic, Lallana and Balotelli.. what a waste of money.

We probably held on to him a season longer than he wanted and as much as I agree with the sentiment of hanging on to him in today's climate of player power I am not sure if it would be possible.
No doubt Neville failed to mention that Man U's inability to keep Ronaldo has had a direct impact on their decline.
It surely would have been tough to keep him and no doubt we'd have to put up with all sorts from the Suarez camp but if this was the big season where the CL money goes up and we really needed to be there then it feels like we could have tried harder.
I don't know mate.
It does seem like the owners decided to cut their losses once the mad fecker got his gnashers out again, That said there have been reports that there was contact/agreement with Barca about the sale prior, to the World Cup.
Who knows what is true.
I still wish we had the mad fecker here.
I've no inside track on this or anything, but I strongly suspect there was some kind of agreement in place about this when we persuaded him to give us another season. My guess is that without such an agreement he'd have held out for a lower (perhaps far lower) release clause in his last contract.
Fair enough, I don't really remember the details and rumours now.
Maybe if he wins everything he'll come back 👎
That Barcelona front line is madness, 1 Suarez was enough to nearly get us the league but they have 3 forwards around that level.
Sorry mate but I don't think that we can leave this at just "agreeing to disagree" or whatever we are doing.
This is the point where we call each other cunts and follow each other around various other threads slagging the other one off.
He was a volcano eruption away from signing for the mighty Blackburn. Great player.
He was close to signing for blackburn the summer Iceland soiled the skies? We really need to poach some of Dortmunds scouts / transfer committee
Yep. He was meant to get a flight over for a medical or something but couldn't because of the ash cloud and Dortmund swooped in instead.
Suarez is just unreal. Amazing.
Still some of our own fans cant seem to give him the credit he deserves.
3rd best player in the world for me.
He's rubbish that Suarezzzzzzzzzzzzz

90% (at the very least) of this site wanted him gone once he bit a 2nd time. Unfortunately contractually we had no option anyway and at the time 75M (over US$125M) was considered a pretty good price all things considered.
It's admittedly guesswork either way, but I very much doubt that. I thought he'd probably have to go, but "wanted"? Not me.
