Take that..

Bayern are in decline..

Like Man UTD.. but not quite as bad..

Ageing backline and ageing squad..

Though that left winger of theirs Gnabry is decent.. Plenty of pace in him...

Not a bad one for us , I think we should be able to beat bayern. It's a shame City got essentially a bye to the next round.

Schalke are 13th(!!!!) In the Bundesliga

Really pleased we've drawn Bayern - Whichever way you look at it it will be a cracker. Bring 'em on. They must be shitting in their lederhosen'. I might make a cheeky bet but I promise you this - I won't cash out! 😵

so. we got bayern, Klopp will be delighted.

the bus driver got olympic diving team. ha. ha. ha.
what a boring game that will be.

In all honesty this is probably the best possible draw for us. I watched both of Bayern's games against Ajax and they were 2nd best for large parts of both ties. They do NOT like a team like Ajax with loads of fast and technical skilled players, hence they'll going to loathe playing us and we're most likely going to give them a right beating.

PS Ajax and Dortmund both are teams that could surprise quite a few this Season and go a long way. I don't think Spurs are going into their tie as favourites v Dortmund and I am going to put a wager on Ajax knocking Real out too.

I like the draw. It will not be easy but it can be really entertaining. Bayern have some problems so far this season, but they have a couple of months to get their shit together. However I believe Klopp will have his team ready and he is a better coach than Kovacs. But Bayern, in contrast to ManU have indiduals capable to cause us trouble so we need to find a way to keep Lewandowski quite when VVD is gone.

The flipside is that many of their players have experience of playing against and overcoming Klopp's style of football.
Err I'm pretty sure it's Klopp that has a damn good record vs Bayern. Plus I'm not sure that half of these players wil have even played against Klopp never mind remember how to play vs. his style, plus they've aged considerably (this is a seriously aging Bayern team) and plus we no longer play like Klopp's Dortmund so if they are expecting that .....

Not the best draw but certainly not the worst. And VvD misses our home game which if he had to miss one it's the one to miss.

BBC sport pages has this as its headline? Is this because of some preference ive selected at some point or is that a real nod about us?

Jesus Christ. For future reference, if you could spread these types of opinions out over separate posts and over several weeks it would at least give the likes of @Halmeister and @doctor_mac enough time to deal with each one in turn.

We're gonna get a proper bumming.

I don't think so. Having thought about this - Klopp's probably upset we are not meeting them in the final where the whole world is watching. I reckon when he heard it was Bayern - he was probably doing a celebration equivalent to what he did in the game against Everton after Origi scored. I mean lets put it together now:-

  • Up against a team that was his constant nemesis - taking his best players when they could, making his job harder every season.
  • Right now he has assembled a squad with the funds he could have only dreamt of at Dortmund - a squad that is no longer reliant on just pure effort and gen-gen pressing, but able to play multiple ways depending on the opposition.
He can say whatever shit he wants to show a little respect but deep inside - I think he believes with his new squad he will rip the shit out of them both home and away. I know it sounds rather strange given we have not won an away game - but let's face it all those away games this season in the CL have been almost put into second place on his list of priorities - almost on a need to win basis only then apply maximum effort otherwise fuck it. I really don't think he gives a shit who we face in these knock-out stages - simply because he knows he has a strong squad, and he knows that whatever the team - they will have face the Anfield crowd. Don't be surprised if we get an 8 goal aggregate over the two legs and they end up on a real fucking beating.

Also - I really find it hard that Arjen Robben is still playing ? and also Ribery - fucks sake we played against Robben in the 2005 semi-final !!!

Bayern was probably one of the best draws for us (other than Porto - but I'd rather face a top team) as our style doesn't suit their aging team: it's fast & intricate, there's a strong press and most of the players are technically very adept.

In a way similar to Ajax who gave them such problems in their group, 1-1 in Germany (equal shots 15-15 but Ajax more on target) and 3-3 in the NL (Ajax 17-15 shots and more on target). The other potential draws were Barca, Real, Juve, Porto and Dortmund.
