Centre-back pairing versus Chelsea

In actual fact, the centre-back pairing is largely immaterial. What's more important, I think you'll find, is that we have Fabio 'The Human Rocket' Aurelio at left back to cover for them. As long as he's in there, Drogba's speed and power isn't really an issue.

Maybe we should try and sign Titus Bramble. He had Dogbreath in his pocket last week.

Carra & Agger.

He supposedly looked very good in the reserve game and his fitness level seemed high. I would start him until he looked like he was flagging and then bring on Zorba for the last 20 - 30 mins when it's likely we'l either be defending like crazy and need his height against Drogba or need him up the other end of the pitch at set pieces to claw back a goal.

Skrtel has looked well off his best and I wouldn't expect him to all of a sudden come good when his confidence must be low. An early error and he could be all over the place for the rest of the match.

No, since we'll win 2-1

Can't see it mate.
Is our defence good enough to keep Drogba & Anelka down to just the one goal?
I can't see it. I read on here the other day that we could score two goals on Sunday and it not be enough for a point, I would agree with that.

Well they didn't do so well against Wigan or Apeol Nicosia now did they ?

Neither team is on top form ... and with Torres in the team that gives us a great chance.

HAHAHA

This game versus chelsea isn't on sunday, instead it is back in time before the offside rule, and we are going to be playing a 1-4-4-1, with aurelio sweeping. I suggest we use pepe as our forward instead of Torres, he isn't as good a footballer, but he is stronger, which will be useful in barging their second string goalie into the goal.

We can think about subbing Torres back in if things aren't going to plan at the half time smoke break.
