carroll is resonably good with the ball at this feet and will win the majority of headers in the box, yet;
a) we hoof the ball up to him and expect him to control it
b) we don't cross to him in the box
if carroll fails in a liverpool shirt then his team mates are going to have to shoulder some of the blame for that. carroll was filling his boots at newcastles and the main reason for that is newcastle played to his strengths. you could are Torres is suffering so the same reason (we played to his strengths and chelsea do not).

They do not need a fucking time to settle to play good football. Torres, Alonso, Reina, Hyypiä, Babbel, Mascher, Didi all played well since day one.

I felt sorry for Carroll, he's great in the air, so Carragher and the likes spent all game smashing straight long ball hoofs to his general direction and expecting him to do the business.
He didn't once get it to feet in the second half, and only the one time I can think of in the first, when he fired a good low ball across the edge of the area for Kuyt. The one time he managed to find it at his feet in the second half, he forced Carson in a superb save.
We're not going to get the best out of him playing that way, that much should be clear to even the most blinkered bint on this forum. Those calling for him to be moving must be taking the piss.

I like Carroll as one of his best attributes is his finishing. Just like I said Meireles' best attribute is his shot long before he started banging them in for us. However, I do fear that the presence of Carroll does make Carragher's lack of technique even more annoying and a bit of a problem. Hope that goes away when we address LB, DM and wingers but if it doesn't, Carroll's inclusion gives a reason to replace Carragher. Anyone else see what I'm saying... granted its still wait and see.
