Carroll

Yep, I see what you're saying completely. Carroll needs to be on the end of balls delivered into dangerous areas rather than knocking them down or on from continuous hoofballs that completely bypass our midfield.

I like Carroll as one of his best attributes is his finishing. Just like I said Meireles' best attribute is his shot long before he started banging them in for us. However, I do fear that the presence of Carroll does make Carragher's lack of technique even more annoying and a bit of a problem. Hope that goes away when we address LB, DM and wingers but if it doesn't, Carroll's inclusion gives a reason to replace Carragher. Anyone else see what I'm saying... granted its still wait and see.

I think Carra will be alright once he's back in the middle. Centre backs have it easy in a way, as they've got the space and options (short passes to CM/DM, LB/RB, plus long balls). Carra's worst trait gets exposed when he's on the right, as he can't dribble nor find players in tight spots with his short passing. So when he gets the ball, he hoofs. When he's in the middle we get far less of that.
This is why we miss Alonso so much. He was practically holding every player's hand when we'd have the ball in our half. So much so that players probably felt stupid doing long balls with such an obvious short pass option 2 yards away from them.

Excellent point about Carra. Even when he played LB he hoofed the ball less than he does on the right.

Sven is just trolling and trying to get a response. No point.

Yep. He's good for the forum actually. Comes in small bites and bucks the trend.

I don't mind him at all. He talks some shit of course, but we do need variation from time to time.

So the question is now what does Carroll need to do in order to get in everyones book?

It is a simple question and a simple answer. Score goals and score lots of goals. Simple really.

BUT with the players we have in the team like Carra who love to hoof the fucking ball at every opportunity and midfielders like Lucas, Maxi, Spearing and Meireles would he succeed?

We know Carroll capable of scoring goals and Liverpool are a better team than Newcastle. Until Kenny sort out that shit of having three midfielders(Lucas, Spearing and Meireles) running around like fucking headless chicken until than we would look and play like shit. Not just Carroll, Suarez and Kuyt too will be affected.

True. That's why we need wingers more than anything else. Natural, fast, tricky wingers. Who can cross.

[quote author=Sven link=topic=44801.msg1310057#msg1310057 date=1301914498]Another excuse for Carroll.

Good players do not need fans to make excuses for them because they play well. Carroll has got his chance, time to move on and sell him.

This post is perhaps the stupidest, most ridiculous I've ever seen on this forum. And that's saying something. Simply wow.

Anyways, my main concern is that his confidence will dip if he continues to have difficulties finding the net and getting service. If we do not have players who can create some offense, I worry for his self-belief and the knock-on effect this will have on his development. The remaining few games and how we fare in the summer window will go a long ways towards determining whether Carroll succeeds or not. He's never a 35 M player but he has the potential to be a mainstay in our side for years.

Yep, 4AM and he was wrecked.

He was surrounded by his posse and shoved against the staffroom door, until they roped an area off for him.

Told my mate to fuck off too.

Avvy has just PM'd me, asking if this is an April Fool's joke.

Since Avvy doesnt now what Bumpers is, I doubt that

if you go to a club to get roped off in a corner with your mates then why not just stay at home with them and turn the music up?

Who cares?! As long as he didn't hurt himself or anyone else. We don't play until monday.

He's 22 ya tit.

It's one thing if it's just the one off,Spaz..but Carroll has prior history for drinking issues and it's something the club needs to watch.

Nobody wants our 35 million record transfer to turn into the next Gazza, which admittedly is the worst case scenario.

No it's not. Gazza was boss. Then went mental. Dont mind him being a happy pissed goal scoring beast istead of a bored not allowed out by his bird sad bastard that ends up fucking off somewhere else for 10 million because he couldn't get pissed once a week. Let him drink booze. Keeps him happy. Happy vibes create goals. I doubt the club would let him run riot like but they should let the lad get pissed.

I remember reading that GED always used to be bigging him up in front of the other players for always drinking water during training, Carra points out in his book that it was because he was constantly dehydrated from the night before.
