Why's there no thread on him?
Fair enough, he needs to play himself back in, but, if he's worth 35M, I must be worth 20M, at least.

And I'm shit.

He's not worth 35 million, and I doubt he ever will be.

This was a panic purchase, but he is a good player and we should see a good return on what was spent.

He got mentally raped in the face by that ref in the first half hour yesterday.

It was like watching Duncan Ferguson, except that used to make me laugh. He never won any free kicks and got booked all the time too, when he was playing fairly and getting the shit kicked out of him. I hope that's not how his all works out.

The 'white Drogba' they said..

mhm

So excuces for Carroll's shitness are poor service, lack of match fitness, his injury and poor squad.

He's not gonna make and we should admit it and cut our losses. What waste of money.

Ah yes, a defeat. Welcome back.

In fairness to Sven.

He'd have a huge post count this year if he'd turned up after every defeat

I have some serious concerns over him but I think he's playing in one of the worst Liverpool sides for about 15 years.

I was tempted to check out the starting midfields for all the Premiership teams yesterday, but I'm afraid I'd find out that at least 12 teams fielded a better midfield than us this weekend.

He'll be fine.

I'm with this.

Mate, that is hyperbole at its most extreme. There is no way on this earth this is our worst team in 15 years. It isn't even our worst team in the last 5 years without bringing the team Souness produced into it.

Unless you're talking dog years or something then Souness isn't in the period mentioned.

We'll see a different carroll come next season when we'll have proper wide men available for him..

Worst thread ever. He'll be an excellent player for us, without a doubt.

Just returned after nearly 3 months out, not fit, playing in a team without widt, creativity, pace and not a cross in the box to save his life. Its one of the worst teams ever, at the moment.

He's going to be one of the best strikers in the country for years to come.

Oh, and he's still only 22...

What liverpool team is worse that our current one? Too many cloggers, too many players over the hill, too many players not comfortable on the ball. I think the service Carroll enjoyed at Newcastle is better than the service he is getting here, at least they (n'castle) know how to cross.

He was immense for Newcastle. I watched around 10 of his games this season, and I was mightely impressed every time. They utilized his strengths though, and had players that could actually cross the ball.

We on the other hand have 4 centre backs hoofing it 80 yards and expect him to make miracles happen.

When we get crosses into the box and pace around him, we'll be ace.

'Worst Liverpool team ever'?

Seriously?

We have a poor squad, but it'll still be some ways before we can say this is the worst ever.

Oh no, we've been relegated, trounced 9-0 or something by Birmingham. This isn't the worst Liverpool team ever by a long way. But it's the worst in the last 20 years in my opinion. I'm too young to remember the Souness years properly, though. But we did at least win a trophy under him.

We need the reincarnations of Wilcox and Ripley to suit Andy.

With our current wingers he'll be a flop.

The team yesterday had no width, no pace, no creativity and non excistent attacking fullbacks and a midfield incapable of controlling the game.

It will take a massive summer to make us challengers again.

I'm of the ilk we need 2 massive summers. We need an overhaul and a half. One summer for first team, second summer to push first tenets who aren't good enough to the bench.

We need *takes deep breath*...

A keeper probably
A centre back
A left back
A centre mid
TWO wingers
A load of players to challenge for the first team.

This Liverpool team is fucking garbage.

Btw, to clarify my positon.. I was just trying to wind up Krump. 😛 by quoting his bold "white Drogba" proclamation just before he signed.
Personally, I think and hope Carroll will be a very good, if not spectacular, effective striker for us, once we get a compotent midfield again.

Worth 35m? Probably not at the time, but he could pay off that price tag if he stays on the straight and narrow and gives ua 10 solid seasons as our number 9. I'll wait and judge Carroll when he's actually being given chances to miss in front of goal.
