Bollocks. This would not help my anti-England stance. I could never wish ill on our Jamie.
 
if capello offers jamie a place on the plane he'll be mad not to take it. the world cup rolls around every four years so the call definately wont come again and there's no point in 'saving yourself' liverpool when we're all over the fucking place currently.

I thought Carra's 1st pen was a beaut, pity he took it before the whistle.

I think so. A request was made for volunteers and typically Carra fronted up for it.

He buried one very nicely to help us win the Carling Cup against Birmingham in the Treble season though.
 
Collycunt is now saying Jamie shouldn't be going because it would be "setting a precedent" and Jamie's shown no commitment blah blah.

Because Stan knows everything about being committed..............

The team were all saying he was the best penalty taker in the squad in practice. Shame about the whistle.

Just as good IMO, plus he's had to fill in at RB, plus he's pretty much had to captain the side officially or otherwise, plus he's got international experience. It's a perfectly sensible and defensible choice on Capello's part.
 
Hope it's true. I'd like to see Carra & SG get some reward for their loyalty to Liverpool (if you know what I mean) by lifting the WC.
 
There's talk of Owen Hargreaves being in the preliminary squad, partly due to Gareth Barry's injury.

Capello made a big thing of saying if a player had not proven his fitness he wouldn't be in the squad. I doubt a few mins as a sub last week and possibly 30 mins tomorrow would count as being 'match fit' !

I've said before that hargreaves should go. He won't (or shouldn't) use all 23 players so bring him along as the last player then bring him on to take a penalty. Unlike most other english players he doesn't seem to panic in a shootout (maybe cos he's not english 😉. )
 
Jamie was poor until november. Like most of the players.

Then he's been our most constant and best defender by miles.
Again.
I'd be delighted for the lad if he was picked for the world cup.
I dont think he will accept though
