A few points:
1) I said it another thread and I'll say it again - I feel bad for Downing. He's not played nearly as well as he did for Villa, and his brief stay here can be summed up by his first game against Sunderland. Great shot, smashes off the crossbar and then anonymity. He has the skills to be a decent player for us. Nothing brilliant, not worth whatever we paid for him, but be a decent contributor. Even that he's struggling to do - he's been sapped of all his confidence (not Daglish or Rodgers' doing) and it's just not good for him here. Time for him to move on for his own good. He's been a disastrous signing, but I think he'd still produce decent stats (6 goals, 5-10 assists) for a Villa or Sunderland. I think we can get 10 million for him still ... He's English after all.
2) Enrique after a brilliant debut 6 months has been extremely average the last half season of 2011/12 and the first few months this year. He struggles to make the easy passes, and holds onto the ball far too long. He's not a Gerrard or a Suarez - a player who can do that and produce something magical. He will lose it and cause our (currently) average defense serious headaches. He's had quite a few opportunities in smaller games to get into a positive spin, but he's just struggled. I can see him going back to Newcastle, or to Spain. He's just not going to work in this system.
3) If the above both go, that would leave only Coates & Henderson from the 'senior player' signings made by Commoli & Daglish. Horrible waste of money ... Hopefully some of the kids they bought will turn out golden, but that was catastrophic.
