All along I've maintained that we had the safety net with the mancs because Barca would beat them. I must admit that some of my confidence ebbed during the semi's. There were periods against Madrid where they looked very flustered and vulnerable while I was quite surprised at the quality of Fergusons bench.

The thing that has changed in my mind is that a battle of the benches would see Ferguson holding the cup; I don't see many options for changing the game on Barca's bench while the mancs really look capable of making a big impact with substitutions.


I still think Barca are most likely but Hernandes, Rooney, Giggs, Valencia will make them work and that back 4 is really capable of stifling a lot of attacks.
