I want to say THANK YOU to Broughton, Purslow & Ayre for the impecable manner in which they conducted themselves under great stress and duress. That is the Liverpool Way!

They guaranteed our future in the best possible way by decimating G&H. Its a wonderful feeling and an unforgettable day in our history.

This is not just a moral victory for the Board but a significant victory for our long suffering fans.

I hope that NESV retain them on the Board.

Today sees the return and new hope to the RED faithful. Let's embrace a new dawn.

I dare to dream! Join me...

Big thank you!
After working hard for nearly a year lets hope that NESV make this even better by getting behind the club with a decent amount of cash and lets get the club back up to the top.

Agree with everyone here. What's happened today, and in the last few days, has been the culmination of a lot of hard and at times unpleasant graft for these fellas. They deserve every credit and the more of them we can persuade to stay on, the better.

It's worth remembering that these three will be judged on the success of the new owners, which is obviously still way too early to call. But I doff my hat to them today, for they have removed two cancerous leaches from sucking the life out of this club, and for that it's fitting to raise and glass and thank them.

The advocates of the four horsemen of the apocalypse must be feeling pretty stupid right about now. That is, if they can put their anti-Rafa conspiracy theories to one side.

Although, to be fair, those three have definitely shown abilities of the conspiratorial kind. They stitched up Hicks and Gillett like a kipper.

Carragher.

He played his contract talks at a time of great disruption, and was obviously trying to upset proceedings.

Excellent work from all concerned. I loved the 'home team' stuff too.

Absolutely. When Broughton started talking about "our club" I thought "this has really got personal for you, hasn't it?". I don't expect him to abandon a lifetime's support of Chelsea (which BTW must presumably have started well before the Abramovich bonanza hit them) but, if he now bows out of LFC, I hope he comes back from time to time and gets the reception he deserves.

Well done to Broughton, Purslow and Ayre. Only time will tell if selling to NESV was the right decision but they've fought tooth and nail to get this decision, a decision they felt was the right thing for LFC. Given the absolute guff that's been thrown at them by supporters of our club, I hope people will take a step back in the future and judge people on their actions not lambast them based on nothing. Onwards and upwards.

I've been impressed by Ayres, very impressed by Broughton, but not sure what Purslow has done really to be appreciated.

Purslow brought in the Standard Chartered sponsorship deal, is responsible as MD for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the club (including Ayre's work BTW) and played his part as one of the majority on the board in the trench warfare involving the [glow=red,2,300]former[/glow] owners. He definitely deserves his share of the credit.

Well done fellas! Time will tell how effective the new owners will be, but it was a risk well worth taking and one that was heroically, and brilliantly fought for.

I will freely admit to being deeply suspicious of Broughton when he signed in for us, by virtue of his appointment being portrayed as a dinner time chat with Cunt n.1 however he really has been true to his word and that is a credit to him, I'm sure he still is a Chelsea fan but that certainly didn't stop him from walking the walk as well as talking the talk. Really grateful to him tbh, I'm not the most mentally well adjusted sometimes and GnH have been upsetting me on an almost personal level for a long fucking time. Well done Broughton. As for Purslow I never saw the need for saying he was somehow reptilian, he probably did do for Rafa, and considering what we have in his stead that's not a great move, however he clearly is a fan and has had the best interests of the club in mind from day one. Well played to him also. As for ayre. ... I don't know much about him but if he has made us record record profits then .... More power to his elbow also! Nah .... It is the first day I've enjoyed being a Liverpool fan for fucking ages.... Bravo all round.

I was thinking that when he started to say 'our' and 'we' with regards to the club, whereas before it seemed like he always spoke of the club in the third person. I wondered if he hadn't become a little attached to the whole Liverpool 'thing'; the romance of the history, the worldwide prestige, the emotion of it all. And frankly, who'd blame him?

You can get some, admittedly limited, insight into Ian Ayre if you can track down the interview his did with the official club TV station some months ago where he talked about his role etc. It'll be on the website somewhere I guess. Or maybe Youtube by now.

I'm a little bit gutted that he's definitely decided to move on.
