We have no options on the bench, tired and mentally fatigued players and loads of injuries. It was quite obvious that we'd lack that extra spark yesterday.
I think we did enough to deserve a draw yesterday though.

I said before the game, traditionally that tie has a tight scoreline, with only one or two goals margins, yesterday was the same as. They were dogged and a bit more incisive, we broke better but the delivery and invention in general was well off the level we are used to. Only Mane looked a genuine threat.

I actually hate these type of threads because of the ridiculous pessimism shown by some posters that's totally out of step with reality. And that's all season long!

We have to just treat it like a big CL or Premiership game, go all out with our support and overrun them from the first whistle. I know it's easier said, but it's one of those games where we need an early goal.

It's not really. CL qualification is on a knife edge and we've hit a spell of bad form, you can't blame people for being cautious or worried.

TOO!

[If my pedantry does your head in, just think what it does to mine - I drive myself crazy!]

Ha, I'd be doing the same if it was in Norwegian. Seeing as English isn't my first language, I'm sadly prone to these mistakes.

It's like this before EVERY match though ! And even a blind man can see why we had lost acuity. 7 days rest will do us the world of good and all will be right with the world come the final whistle next weekend.

Plus we have done shite against dross (home and away) last few weeks. It's not outlandish I would have felt

If I remember correctly, under Klopp we've never suffered back-to-back losses, so after yesterday is it the first time?

Granted we didn't need to win last week against Roma but this scenarios has split me into 2 separate emotional dimensions, one fairly optimistic that we'll get a result vs Brighton, the other full on panic mode that we screwed this up ourselves after dropping 2 valuable points against West Brom and maybe there is alot missing with the absence of The Brain's input in Klopp's tactical plan.

Also there's some element of deja vu when I think of the last time our euphoric run was halted by a loss at Stamford Bridge, resulting into us garnering a string of disappointing results towards season end.

We only need to win one of our next two matches to get champions league football next season, thats not a bad situation to be in, is it?

For some reason im more confident in this side beating Real than I am Brighton.

Who's fault is it we have no option on the bench?

Injuries? We could definetly have signed a replacement for Studge and Coutinho, but we knew Klopp wouldnt do that if he couldnt get his preferred targets.

If we had Ox, Matip, Can and Lallana fit - we'd have at least 4 more points at this stage imho.

Fixed, as the other 3 are shit, money grabbing slick haired cunt or out of form

I'll be gutted for Mo if he doesn't get the outright lead for PL Top Scorer and ends up joint with Luis & Shearer. I expect Anfield will be rocking which could also be a reason for two tired looking performances - they've gotten used to the crowd being absolutely epic for the CL run and so away from home they've needed to look within for inspiration and have failed somewhat.

Same guy who took us to CL final I guess.... relax and enjoy. My wife always look for that 5% fault with everything and it is bloody boring.

If we don't win the CL and finish outside the top four, then for all our obvious progress, we're still in the predicament of not offering our best players CL football next season and winning fuck all, which brings the danger we know too well, of then potentially losing those best players. If that's the case and even as it stands with top four going down to the wire, it was fucking stupid to sell Coutinho without backing it up. We said that in January its mostly been proven right with our telling lack of depth when we most need it.

If you don't think it's a problem, I suggest you view the results when we've rested one of the front three, before and after we sold Coutinho.

Relax man. We will play CL next year. And we have one of the best front 3 in Europe this season, so resting one of them will cause us problems. If Klopp want to make sure that resting one doesn't make a huge issue he is right to wait until he find the right guy to rotate rather than just buying someone because they are available. The sits is not perfect but Even you have to agree that we are two wins away from the best season in 25 + years?

How's it the best season in 25 years? If we win the CL then it's the best season since the last time we won it in 2005, not to degrade it, but I don't see how it's hugely different, the history books will say the same thing for both seasons.

People seem to be incapable of separating the issue over selling Coutinho and not panic buying a replacement, maybe we just shouldn't have sold him without reinforcements being made. It was a gamble and if we get through the next two games, it's just paid off. We should never have been on the knife edge in the first place. The front three is one of the best around, but the depth beyond that is a massive drop off in quality. And now a couple of them have dropped out of form, there's nothing reliable in reserve.

If we fuck up the Brighton game or fail to turn up in the final, it's a travesty that we've undone all our great hardwork and relative brilliance, by gambling on losing two attackers and not replacing at least one of them.

We've got enough players right now to qualify for the CL next season.

If we were not to make it, it's on them as much as it is on not buying a replacement for Couhtinho.

Not really, they've produced consistently throughout the season, so it's hardly "on them", it's because we've got no one to step in to give them a breather, and that's not on the team, that's on the manager, or the club, or both.

Nah, it's on them as well if they can't beat Brighton at home after a week's rest.

If we were to finish 5th in the league, you can't really say they've produced consistently. Simple as that.
