Plus what if we play the first team and get beat 😉

what if we don't and get knocked out?

what if it turns out sterling or raheem is ineligible

its all ifs and buts. Playing our strongest team gives us the best chance to progress but won't boost confidence much
Getting knocked out while playing that team will shatter whatever little we have left

What if the ball explodes?

Then we blame al-Qa'ida and later on find out it's some pissed of Norwegian fan behind it.

I know this thread isn´t official but does anyone have any unofficial knowledge what line up were going to play?

Whoever plays on the right flank for us should relish it.

Mauricio Taricco is set to play. The 38-year-old former Tottenham defender, now Albion's assistant manager, is poised to start at left-back as Marcos Painter is suspended.

Liverpool provisional squad: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Coates, Robinson, Spearing, Lucas, Kuyt, Rodriguez, Bellamy, Carroll, Doni, Kelly, Enrique, Wilson, Gerrard, Shelvey, Downing, Henderson, Suarez.

Steady, he might burn up !

I'd go with (assuming that is the team listed)

Flanno-Carra--Coates-Robbo
---------Lucas-Spearing--------
--------------Maxi-----------------
--Kuyt-----Carroll------Bellamy

this ain't the right thread for this but I need to ask this question - our away games to Man United, then City are scheduled for 3pm Kick-Offs next year, can someone explain why this is so - as I understand it the 3pm games are not on TV so how is this the case - for as long as Sky has been around our games against Man United have always been televised. Or does the schedule/fixture time change as we get closer to the game ? I don't get it.

TV schedule hasn't been set for those fixtures yet but as you say, there is no way they won't be on TV so the 3pm kick off time will change.

SKY/ESPN have only released their televised fixtures up until the end of November mate so once they release them for Dec onwards, the time/possibly date of these matches will change.

No way will they be 3pm kick offs.

Do remember one of our matches with the Scum was 3pm on a Saturday, 2003 i think? when Murphy scored the Pen at Old Trafford, beat them 1-0. 🙂

I think we'll be okay tonight as long as we field a decent team. A full strength Brighton would have given us a stern test but as they have a very important league match on FRIDAY against Leeds I doubt whether Poyet will play a full strength team.

A full strength Brighton looks a bit like this............

---------------------Ankegren--------------------

Calderon-------Greer---------Dunk----------Painter

Harley--------Dicker--------Bridcutt--------Noone

---------Mackail-Smith---------Barnes---------

I hope Dunk plays as I've heard lots of good things but never seen him. If Mackail Smith plays our defence will be tested (he should be playing in the Premier League) and if they replace Barnes with Hoskins then it will be tougher as he's a better player.

Noone (if he plays) is excellent and will really test our right back. Dicker and Bridcutt are both fairly defensive. I haven't seen Harley play for Brighton (I saw him regularly last season at Exeter) but I assume they play him on the right.

So basically their players worth watching are Mackail-Smith, Hoskins, Dunk (from what I've heard) and Noone. Calderon is a decent attacking right back also but probably only at Championship standard.

I hope we play this side but Kenny will probably field a stronger side. Would be nice to see Gerrard and Kelly start (as it would "prove" that they are fully fit).

--------Lucas-Shelvey-----------
Kuyt--------Gerrard------Bellamy
