Bridge makes himself unavailabe

Baines and Warnock will be happy with that.
Both deserve the LB slot more than Bridge anyway, he's been shit this season.

I think it was probably a convenient way for Bridge to convince himself that his fate was in his own hands.

Just maybe, he couldn't bring himself to play in the same team as some one who's been sleeping with his wide, which is fair enough.

While I don't think he's had a good year, he's a decent LB and has made the decision because he cannot play with the man who shagged his girl. I think Bridge has made a difficult choice - because he WOULD have been in the World Cup squad and he's turned it down.

She was his ex-girlfriend no? Still wrong, but hardly the same.

Bridge should clatter him in the final minutes this weekend and then draw a line under it.

He should just seduce Mrs Terry and then forget about it.
[/quote]

ha ha now that would be a story!

It was his ex, she was also fucking at least one other player.

He needs to grow up, laugh it off like any fella would if he realised he was seeing a slapper & get over himself.

Basically, John Terry has already had go on his ex-missus and now he's letting him dictate whether he participates in the biggest event in world football. An opportunity which almost certainly won't come round for him again.

It's a bit meek if you ask me.

But it would mean the end of civilisation...

Depends on if Bridge is the Messiah or not.

I dunno Jon - You're assuming Bridge didn't really care for this girl or what he 'had' with her ... Sometimes it ain't easy getting over things, especially if you could see the lad who shagged your bird daily for ~30 days ...

I tend to agree with you - but I see where he's coming from. I don't know what I would do if I was in his situation but couldn't fault him if he decided to play or not to.

And why wouldn't they?

I don't know the full details but was Terry doing Bridge's missus while they were still together? If so, and if Terry was a factor in why they split then I think Wayne Bridge has every right to be upset. I don't think many people would laugh it off in those circumstances.

Wasn't it that she was his "ex" only after the event??

I live abroad and have only really seen the headlines as opposed to read any of it...

I believe (though I couldn't swear to it) that it's been denied that this was a factor in the split, but IMO the rest of what you say still applies, in addition to which she's the mother of Bridge's child.

Well if they just turned up, broadcast the football and gave opinion about the football that just took place, no worries. Their pre-match build up is all about what big stories could occur. No doubt they'll have whipped together some half arsed montage (in black and white) showing 'JT' & 'Bridgey' in an embrace after a match, first in Chelsea shirts, then in England shirts. The music will stop with a screech and the screen will rip in two. They may even colour their eyes in an angry red. Then it'll be back to hairy hands in the studio so he can smile smugly at us peasants.

upset,.yeah. But not .let it stop you playing in the fucking World Cup. Its like choosing not to go in your local cos the lad who banged your bird drinks in there. Fuck that, he.s then won twice.

He's being a complete tit, either get on with it & pretend it didnt happen or klnock the cunt out, dont start trying to avoid ever playing with him. What about spoortsmans dinner etc? He gonna avoid them if terry is there too? Nah, he's just being a tit.

Effectively, if he knocks it back its what he deserves. He's not a very good left back and it means some better players at unfashionable might get a chance. Baines is a prime example

I'm with Jon, he needs to build a bridge and get over it.

But some would say what JT has done is just a bridge too far for Wayne.

Nah, it should be water under the bridge by now.

(The end, please!)

I wonder whether Bridge would have gotten the spot anyway, when was the last time anyone saw him have a good game ?

Baines and Warnock don't seem International class just yet. Might they play Barry at LB ?
