Great to see this confirmed. I heard ze Germans were still sniffing around, so although he appeared to have come around to staying, nothing says staying better than ink on a contract. Although not for the duration of that contract, obviously. Anyway, this boy will be a cracker.

Vitiligo?

I'm really itching for one of our exciting young attackers (Woodburn, Wilson, Kent, Ojo or Brewster) to start getting more game time. I like that Kloop has been trying it with Solanke although it hasn't quite worked for him yet. I really thought Woodburn would be given the chance to push on last season, maybe he will this.

There is something great about watching a young gun come on when the majority of fans are so desperate for them to take their chance.

Arthritis? At 17? Is this for real?

This is what has been reported regarding the injury. Ligament damage in his ankle and then a knee op. Shame if he's out until November.

The talented attacker was injured against Manchester City in an U-23 game, damaging ankle ligaments after an awkward fall.
An operation to repair those ligaments was successful, but was expected to keep him out for around four months—potentially offering hope of a return before the end of the current campaign.
But discomfort in his knee has resulted in a second op being required, with the Echo reporting he’ll now be out until pre-season as a result.
Neil Critchley, boss of the U-23s, has suggested that the second operation was opportunistic given Brewster still has months of rehab work ahead of him.

“The knee operation is not going to alter much the timeline on Rhian coming back.

“It happened at the same time as when he hurt his ankle. The ankle was the major issue – that was where he was getting the most pain – but the knee wasn’t quite right.
“It’s not a major thing but as he’s out anyway they took the opportunity to get it sorted.
“The hope is that Rhian will be back fit in pre-season, whether that’s at the start or towards the end we don’t know yet.
“He’s got a good few months of rehab ahead of him and we’ll keep reviewing where he’s at.”

Is it the same source that said Van Dijk's leg would fall off? Or is it more credible?

Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster has revealed he's unlikely to make his comeback before Christmas.
The 18-year-old frontman, who has signed a first professional contract to keep him at Anfield until 2023, was initially expected to return to training in September.
However, Brewster is still recovering from the ankle and knee operations he underwent after damaging ligaments playing for Liverpool Under-23s against Manchester City back in January.
“I’ve been out for about six months now and it’s quite far down the line,” Brewster told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I’m hoping to be back by around Christmas. Hopefully by then I should be back fit and fighting for my place in the team.
“This is a great team that I want to be a part of. Getting back fit and fighting fit is what I want to do in the upcoming season, and prove to everyone I am good enough.
“I can’t wait to be back because I’m missing it like crazy. When I’m back I want to prove to everyone that I made the right decision in staying at this club. Hopefully this year I will get my professional debut and push on from there.”

Brewster, who joined Liverpool from Chelsea in 2015, also spoke about the bond he has established with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in recent months.
The teenager has been doing his rehabilitation programme alongside the England international, who suffered a serious knee injury back in April.
“When you’re seeing everybody else on holiday, and you’re here working and fighting to get fight, it does get boring and annoying,” he added.

“Me and Ox have been strong together and pushed each other on. Ox has helped me a lot, him being senior, to make me push and push.
“I can’t thank him enough. I’m looking forward to both of us getting back fit and hopefully playing. I’ve made a brother there.”
