Brendan Rodgers apparently looks very downbeat in his Liverpool press conference. He appears to have given up on Willian and, after missing out on three of his main summer transfer targets, he is visibly miffed, by all accounts.​

Rodgers on Willian: "If you don't get the player you move on, we have eleven days left and have to do everything we possibly can."​

I honestly don't know. Talk about a rock and a hard place. If we go for final hopeful punts on players then you'd have to think there's a big chance of fucking up. If we don't then IMO we have next to no chance of beating Spurs or even Arsenal to 4th, and if Spurs get it, with that squad, then I could see them cementing themselves there for years.

I think what I've feared is happening: we've kind of got stuck between going for the CL and longer term planning and done neither. If we don't sign at least 2 quality players then there really wasn't any point in keeping Agger, Suarez, Skrtel et al. We could well regret it next summer.

There have got to be a lot more good-excellent players out there that would improve us, within our rather large budget, than those that have moved already ! Doesn't mean we can't unearth a couple of them just because their names haven't been enshrined in 6CM yet 😉
