Poor first half and an instant improvement when Carroll came on.

We should have done better but its all hands on deck at Anfield for the return leg.

Did anyone else see that elderly woman in our end just now ?

I thought it was Roy !

it's him in disguise

Typical.

Beat Chelsea away
Draw to Wigan at home
Lose to West Ham
Beat Utd
Lose to Braga

That's the Liverpool way

Haha, I thought the same, especially seeing as we were about to lose.

Big bouffanty hair.

Fingers to mouth/chin area.

Unfriggincanny !

Really hope to God this isnt how we are going to utilize Carrolls strengths, Carra and Skrtel bombing down field.

Get the ball upfield out on the wings and cross it into the box. Only problem is we dont have any capable of hitting a decent cross.

Went there looking for a point and came back empty-handed. Not surprised really, with the available personnel and that starting lineup. Hopefully Carroll came through fine and will start next week.

Johnson has to start at RB though, as we really need him to offer a lot more threat with Gerrard and Suarez unavailable. He's a liability defensively at RB but we have to go for it at home. Having him at LB just neuters his attacking abilities. The combo of Carra at RB and Johnson at LB sterilizes our attacks from the back and any width we have at all in the team.

And please... NO MORE POULSEN! The fans at Anfield should just gorge their eyes out and toss them onto the pitch if we start with that deadly Lucas - Poulsen CM combo again.

If it was plan A he would have started

touché

but it certainly felt like plan A the amount of times we went long. if you're going to make use of the guy's height, cross it into the box so he can attack it, rather than knocking it down to no one as his team mates are no where near him.

When you have a rubbish central midfield the long ball is inevitable

Central midfield was amazing compared to the wing play on offer.

I don't agree about Johnson's attacking from LB - he's shown more than enough of it from LB in other games. That said, I'd sooner have him at RB thanCarra, who (a) doesn't like playing there any more and (b) is needed in the centre anyway.

Agree otherwise.

I said I was worried about losing and, lo, 'twas so.

Braga are no mugs and with us missing vital personnel through injury or ineligibility, we were always going to find this leg difficult.

However, our hosts don't appear to travel well (beat Arsenal 2-0 in Portugal but were destroyed 6 fucking 0 in London) and with a rocking Anfield and an Andy Carroll, looking to beat the snot out of those sneaky dirty shites, I expect us to be in one of those bowls in Switzerland.

They are sneaky shites aren't they? And how many of the fuckers were sporting identikit chin fuzz? That cunt Kaka is going to get it. Those huge bulbous cheekbones of his are going to be popped.

They are sly buggers right enough. Carvalho blazed the trail for Portuguese players over here and (though a very good player) he's pretty much in that mould, so I'm never surprised now when I see it from Portuguese sides.

I did think we got no protection at all from the ref last night. Doesn't excuse the poor performance but some of decisions and lack of them were really frustrating
