The latest news on Brendan Rodgers Swansea move (and other fashion developments)

Brendan Rodgers ready to get back in the swing of things as former Liverpool boss enjoys a day of golf with Denise Van Outen

Brendan Rodgers may have been out of work for almost six months, but the former Liverpool manager showed on Monday that he is ready to get back into the swing of things.

Rodgers, who was sacked by the Anfield club in October, has been linked with a move back to his former club Swansea in recent days.

But the 43-year-old looked unconcerned with the rumours, as he went for a round of golf with Denise Van Outen in Dubai, with the pair wearing matching black and pink clothing.

Rodgers was then joined by his girlfriend Charlotte Hind for a Gatsby party for the same charity, sporting a bow-tie and waistcoat combination.
The former Liverpool boss has said he is in no rush to be back in management, despite offers from several top clubs since he was sacked in October.

Playing in aid of the Al Jalila Foundation, the 41-year-old showed she was a force to be reckoned with
Speaking last month, Rodgers insisted that he will not take a new job until the summer, and even then he will make sure it is the right fit.
'I will go between now and the end of the season to some clubs and take in some fresh ideas and if the right opportunity comes along in the summer I would really love the opportunity to get back in the game,' said Rodgers in February.
He also admitted that he may need to go somewhere that is not necessarily a 'top job' and could manage outside England.
'I am open. It is where I feel I can go in and make a difference: a job that will excite me. It doesn't have to necessarily be at a top club.
'It can be at home or abroad. It is just about finding the right opportunity, one that will excite me to go in and somewhere I can help make better.'

That jacket won't do up, and he's tucked his tie in his kecks. The man has absolutely no idea what he's doing.

That's an interesting outfit. He looks very comfortable and at ease, even if his sunglasses don't seem to fit his head.

As for the tie, maybe it's one of those square ones?

You've clearly read Ryan's post in the random picture thread.

It's clearly a square tie, you can see that from the line, but it still looks as if he's tucked it in. And the arms look like Elton John's tailor cut them. Atrocious.

Poor Rodgers. He actually screams "mid-life crisis"

And er, no I haven't. But the idea that I'd require any input from Ryan - a man from Ireland who lives in Australia - about fashion, design or style, is quite amusing, so thanks for that.

So you know more about fashion, design and style than Ryan does?

Looks like SCM has a new resident fop.

The tie is a square cut, knitted, ivy league/mod sort of style. It's about the only good thing he's wearing but it doesn't go with the rest of it really. It'd look alright with a 3 buttoned suit that fitted him.

A dedicated follower of fashion I am not, but are those (barely) glorified gym shoes of his fashionable these days or something?

A Ryan (resident 6CM fashion guru) Vs Brendan fashion debate would be the perfect tonic to get us through this international break.

'Coz we're having a discussion, which is only partly about him, in one (so far not very long) forum thread? No, not really.

Isn't he exactly this though?

Not really, unless that analogy works with comparing moving from one Premiership club that has millions in the bank, to another Premiership club that has even more millions in the bank.

Peggy's right, people are proper obsessed with sticking the knife into him. Which is really fucking pathetic.

Do you really have to respond to every single post that winds you up?

I think when a football forum debates his choice of footwear and the length of his sleeves, yes, there is a bit of obsession in the air.

It's a continuation of the bullshit Jono was posting in one of the other threads, sticking the boot into Rodgers as per the norm, at the slightest mention of him (does he really have to respond to every single post about him?).

You have a habit of missing the initial posts and then jumping in when you see me kick off. Leave it out eh.

No, I won't. You're boring the forum to tears by kicking off across multiple threads and it's getting worse as time goes on. You need to let more go.

I wasn't really putting the boot in Mark, you total berk.

I actually feel sorry for how it worked out for Rodgers in the end because his failure was ultimately all our collective failure.
What I was responding to was the fact that Skully said, "he looks like someone on the dole won the lottery" - and he is now actually unemployed and just got a massive payout. So Skullflower was just making a statement of fact rather than being obtuse.

Oh and fuck off with your boring Rodgers defense mechanism you massive 'nana.
