I am quite happy with our quality of play today, except Johnson's shit set piece defending. The players look well up for it, we are aggressive and patient at the same time and at times even inventive. It looks like a completely different team compared to 3 days ago. If we keep this up, we will definitely win this game.

Gerrard and Raul are too lightweight in Midfield. Stevie is no longer the tackling player he was back in the good old days. We need someone strong similar to Toure or Palacios. I'd even give Kelly a go at CB seeing as that is meant to be his preferred position.

We do need to buy a quality central defender though. Gary Cahill would be a good buy.

Did the team even played with a manager managing the game? Caught glimpses of the match via laggy live streaming and even the 'renowned' organisation of Roy Hogdson's teams was missing. Didn't seem to be following any game plan...

Although how long can it take to find a new manager. Put in a call to Frank, who no doubt is chilling on a beach wearing a Hawaiian shirt drinking cocktails with umbrellas in them whilst wearing his straw hat. It would take him hours to get here
 
Throughout the first half I was thinking, why do players show so much more desire and aggression in this game compared to last game. Any thoughts? My first thought was that it's connected with the rumours about Hodgson's exit (not sure whether it means they are sticking up for their manager, or are pumped up by the prospect of him leaving). But maybe the players just decided that they are better than the way the played in the last game, a bit of player pride maybe finally kicked in. We'll see in the 2nd half.
