Here is the teamsheet from the last time we went to Blackpool

Blackpool 1 - 2 Liverpool
Game date: 05.09.1966 Stadium: Bloomfield Road
Competition: 1st Division Attendance: 24,375

Starting line-up
1 Tommy Lawrence
2 Chris Lawler
3 Gordon Milne
4 Tommy Smith
5 Ron Yeats
6 Willie Stevenson
7 Ian Callaghan
8 Roger Hunt
9 Ian St John
10 Geoff Strong
11 Peter Thompson
Goals
Roger Hunt 18'
Peter Thompson 85'

Notes
- Willie Stevenson missed a penalty on 40'
Stevenson's penalty was saved by Blackpool goalkeeper Alan Taylor, Liverpool got the penalty after a handball by Jimmy Armfield.

I don't think any of the players are available, Kenny might have to make some changes!

Re: Blackpool Away

I can see it been the same scoreline
Maybe cole starting in place of Stevie..

Re: Blackpool Away

Ian St John would probably still fit somewhere between Torres and Ngog in the pecking order ;D

Re: Blackpool Away

Went to have a nosey on TLW and someone posted this up as tonights rumoured starting line up:

Reina

Kelly
Agger
Skrtel
Wilson

Johnson
Lucas
Meireles
Maxi

Kuyt
Torres

Aurelio injured again?
Hopefully he's just being careful, and it's a good sign that he doesn't see Konchesky as our *other* left back.

I'm happy with that, not too happy with Maxi playing away from home though, he's muck on our travels.
Hmmmm Not sure about Wilson at LB. Id love to see Glenjo at RM though.

Re: Blackpool Away

Think we're all curious to see what he can do out there. Is it on the tellybox?

Nope... Hopefully on the dodgy telly though.

Re: Blackpool Away

IF the team is right we are in effect playing 4 centre backs which should give us a solid foundation and a bit more aerial power than a defence with Aurelio/Konchesky and Johnson in it.

True, true.. The only worry is the lack of creativity in midfield. Maxi may as well not be there away from home and Meireles has alot of linking up to do. Hopefully Johnson will do what we've all wanted him to do, be a winger!

Re: Blackpool Away

Looks a good team on paper.

*I hope Agger is not meant to deputise as LB again.

Re: Blackpool Away

Dalglish is definitely not afraid in giving youth a chance which is great news in my view. What's the point of the academy otherwise

Re: Blackpool Away

would definately rather see aurelio rather than wilson (or anyone else in the squad) starting at left back.

I would, I don't think he's capable of playing two games a week though.

Not all of us, mate. I remain sceptical about the idea and I'll be very interested to see if the King goes for it.

It's on Sky Italia here so if you know a pub with a "dodgy" Italian satellite decoder then it will be on there.

Soz, I meant 'alot' of us. It might not work, half his problem is that he's brainless, which I doubt will change because of position, hopefully with less defensive responsibility though he'll perform better.

Re: Blackpool Away

We're always crying out for young talents to be given a chance. If that is the team, then good luck to Wilson. Let's hope he takes the opportunity as well as Kelly has managed.

Aurelio's probably just being rested for Sunday. 3 games in 7 days would kill him, surely.

I think Konchesky's injured actually

Re: Blackpool Away

Maybe it's changed since yesterday but the initial squad was:

Liverpool squad: Reina, Kelly, Agger, Skrtel, Aurelio, Lucas, Meireles, Kuyt, Rodriguez, Torres, Babel, Gulacsi, Kyrgiakos, Poulsen, Shelvey, Ngog, Jovanovic, Johnson, Cole, Konchesky.

EDIT: Yeah that figures, so Wilson has replaced Konch in the squad.

Re: Blackpool Away

He has a dead leg after the Blackburn game, but I'd say he's had it all season though.

Expect him to be "injured" for most of the rest of the season

Well I sure fucking hope so

Re: Blackpool Away

The games on the usual foreign channels Sean but I've got on in mine too if you get stuck, projector out & ready!

That side is ideal, very balanced, hope it's right & that Johnson performs there.

Re: Blackpool Away

Btw, I'm told Wilson played LB at Rangers last season & did well by someone in work. Didn't follow him/them myself so I'm not sure if that's right.

Re: Blackpool Away

I hate Konchesky.

Bad enough he's shit;we have to deal with his mouthy mother who can't tell he's shit.

At least Poulsen's just shit.
