Bite, Nibble, Munch and Chomp

Moaning Maureen happy to see Suarez miss games .. naturally.

The Chelsea manager believes the length of the suspension is correct but feels the Liverpool striker should still be able to attend matches during his four months out
Jose Mourinho believes Luis Suarez's suspension for biting Giorgio Chiellini is deserved but the Chelsea manager admits he cannot justify the striker's stadium ban.

The Liverpool forward received a nine-match international suspension and a four-month global ban from Fifa for biting Chiellini during Uruguay's win over Italy on Tuesday.

"I think the punishment is deserved because it is an accumulation of the same negative act on the football pitch,” Mourinho told Yahoo.

"What I really don't like in football is the stadium ban. What's the problem for Suarez to be in the stadium, in the middle of the Uruguay supporters watching the game between his country and Colombia?

"It's too hard, it's something that I really don't understand.

"If his punishment comes as a sequence of three similar mistakes in three different situations, it is something that he deserves. It has to stop."

He's spot on.

I think his lot will clear up this season. Fabregas is gonna be epic. Arsenal have dropped the ball there, I'd have gladly pied off ozil for fabregas.

Costa also being quiet at the world cup and getting a summer before his debut campaign, it's all aligning.

Meanwhile toure and Suarez departures scupper his main rivals

Luis Suarez could earn £40million playing for Barcelona - but only if he agrees to a special 'bite clause'.

The Spanish side are offering the Liverpool striker a five-year deal worth £160,000 a week to move to the Nou Camp.
But Barcelona chiefs are insisting that the contract contains special clauses to ensure that he behaves well both on and off the pitch.

Suarez has already been banned by FIFA for fourth months after his World Cup shame which saw him bite Italy defender Georgio Chiellini . It is the third time he has bitten an opponent in his career.

Barcelona are anxious to ensure that he behaves well - and also recognise they will need to appease some of their supporters.

Liverpool are demanding £80m while Barcelona only want to pay £50m total, which could include Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez as a £30m makeweight in the deal.

Barcelona will also back Suarez in his battle to fight the ban or have it reduced. Suarez is believed to be ready to hire top lawyer Juan De Dios Crespo who is a specialist in sporting cases.

Suarez, who maintains his innocence and claims it was an accidental clash after he lost balance, is ready to take his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Sanchez is a little bit too ball greedy, also he's the same age as Suarez but not as good or prolific. It makes more sense to fail Adam Lallana during his medical, and use all the cash we have to get James.

It's nothing personal, but Suarez is 27 and it's our last chance to get £80m for him. His biting incident has given us the perfect reason to sell him without the club looking weak or unambitious. It's time to let him go in my opinion and get James.

We are not getting James, unless we do a swap deal with Monaco - which we know wont happen. If Barca get Suarez, Real will go for James.

If the Spurs/Bale debacle teaches us anything, it's that we need to make sure that we replace a match winner with a match winner, not just several useful additions in other positions. We NEED several useful additions, obviously, and it looks like we're in the process of getting them, but we simply have to also make sure we bring in the most potent goal threat we can find.

Strachan was a boss there, he has always been one to cut right through the bullshit, its great to see someone that does it, its so frustratingly rare from football pundits in this country, his insight and opinion on the matches and football is often very good as well, he's one of the few worth listening to.

Barcelona only want to pay 50 million quid? do they want our owners and manager to bend over and let them fuck them up the arse while they are at it?

Another entire summer of talking about whether we should/shouldn't sell this guy, and whether he is/isn't worth that much, and if yourman/yourotherman would be a good/bad replacement.

Oh the hell.

Have to say it, but, one of the biggest lessons Suarez should be taught here - is that his actions should not lead to a transfer to Barca unless we are getting the upper end of what he's worth if the incident had never happened.

£80m cash.

I'm not sure about Sanchez.

Exactly.

Plus, 50m? Fuck right off Barca, you piss taking cunts. Third best player in the world. Who gives a fuck what he does with his teeth? He almost won us the league last season, imagine what he can do in La Liga & the champions league for them, when he's protected from nasty tackles & the physical side a lot more than he is here?

He's worth a shitload more to us, & a shitload more to them as well, so they either stump the 80m, or they can fuck off.

The stories are quite amazing.

Liverpool will sell if someone meets the release clause according to a source - yeah that's how release clauses work. Bravo.

And now Suarez will be offered a 40k a week pay cut to agree to agree to a bite clause with Barca.

Amazing

One thing is that people jump at transfer speculations in the newspaper and take the figures quoted for real... They are just bullshit. However, there are different types of contracts offered. You can offer a player a net contract that seem lower than the one he has, however a net contract is money paid to you were the club is liable for any taxes occuring. Why do you think so many players find it lucrative to play in Turkey?

So Barca are offering him less money a week than he already gets? Hows' that going to work?

Assuming he pays income tax here (and I don't want to suggest otherwise - there are already enough reasons for the public to hate him!) then he would come out of this deal taking home roughly the same if he took that pay cut.

Then you would assume there would be more generous incentives and bonuses on top of that at Barcelona compared to what he gets at Liverpool.

Plus, of course, he probably really wants to play for Barcelona! He hasn't exactly made a huge secret of that.

This story did make me laugh, although I'm sure his move isn't all about money, I doubt he'll leave for a paycut.

It was written by John Cross the Arsenal journo though..

But, what are the taxes like in Spain compared to England? Maybe 160k is more net than 175-200k he's here.

As long as you can understand his accent.

I believe it's 45% in both countries.
